It was not the outcome
had been hoping for. Finalists in the 2025 edition, the Chinese organization was eliminated this Friday in the quarterfinals of the
League of Legends tournament at the Esports World Cup. Despite a promising start to their campaign, with victories over Dplus KIA and G2 Esports in the Group Stage, AL fell at the first hurdle of the playoffs against the LEC’s final remaining representative, Karmine Corp, who are competing on home soil at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles (0-2).
A few minutes after his team’s defeat, South Korean support player
spoke to
Sheep Esports about his feelings following the early exit from the competition.
What's the first emotion you're feeling now that the match is over?
Kim "Kael" Jin-hong: "I'm feeling a lot of regret.
What kind of series did you expect against KC, and what impression did you have of the team coming in?
Kael: First of all, I'd watched KC quite a bit, even during the league season. So I saw them as a team with really good synergy between the botlane and the jungle. That's the kind of team I had in mind.
Do you think the team fully showed everything it's capable of at this tournament?
Kael: I think we showed what we prepared as well as we could, but in today's match it just didn't quite come out, so I'm left a bit disappointed.
With your current level of play, do you think you can compete with BLG in LPL Split 3?
Kael: The meta and things like that will probably change a bit by Split 3, so I'm not sure yet.
Which of the remaining teams do you expect to win it all?
Kael: The teams that made it through
are all so strong. Everyone in the top eight earned their way here, so I really can't say yet."
