Patch 13.01 introduces several gameplay adjustments aimed at improving the competitive experience and overall balance of
VALORANT. One of the most significant changes is that Riot Games has buffed Iso by making the weapon equip speed instantaneous after canceling Double Tap. This should enable the agent to transition between fights more smoothly and utilize his signature ability more effectively in fast-paced situations.
Yoru has also received notable improvements. The duration of Gatecrash has increased from 15 to 20 seconds, which gives players more time to set up aggressive plays and rotations. Additionally, Fakeout clones will now hold the last weapon Yoru equipped instead of automatically displaying his strongest weapon. This change reinforces the agent’s deceptive identity and makes his mind games even more convincing.
In addition to agent updates, Riot is taking a firm stance against rank manipulation. Inspired by technology previously used in League of Legends, new detection systems will identify players abusing ranked matchmaking. Offenders may face account suspensions, rank resets, and the removal of competitive rewards. As Riot continues its efforts to protect the integrity of ranked play, players will also begin receiving notifications whenever someone from their matches has been penalized.
Patch 13.01 also includes an important adjustment to the Outlaw sniper rifle. Although Riot wants the weapon to remain powerful, the developers have increased its recovery time, recoil, and spread after the first shot to reward precision and allow for more player expression. Alongside these changes, the update delivers numerous bug fixes for agents such as Jett, Cypher, Reyna, Sage, and Viper, as well as for Split and Summit. Finally,
Riot Games announced a new partnership with Discord that will allow players to invite friends directly from
VALORANT and share party links more easily when the feature launches globally on July 21.
