To support their new common project in the
Prime League,
G2 Esports and NORD Esports have brought in a broadcast specialist. Niklot "
Tolkin" Stüber is joining the team, the clubs announced on Tuesday on X in a video revealing the new academy roster, previously reported by
Sheep Esports, and the logo of the new team. Defined as "
a key bridge between competition, content, and community" in a press release, he will serve as the team’s "President", influencer and co-caster responsible for broadcasting the matches of G2 NORD.
G2 and NORD have chosen one of the most recognisable figures in the German scene to help showcase their initiative. As the team enters the Prime League next year, it will be accompanied by a former player with multiple domestic titles to his name, as well as a familiar presence within the German broadcast ecosystem.
A Prime League specialist
Tolkin is widely known for his casting work. He previously served as an analyst for the official German broadcast, covering the Prime League for an extended period. On his
Twitch channel, he also secured the rights in recent years to cast the LEC, drawing considerable viewership. He will now be affiliated with G2 Esports and NORD to follow and showcase the organisation’s academy team.
He is also an expert on the Prime League, having spent his entire professional playing career within the competition. He won several titles, most notably with
mousesports, before concluding his career with
No Need Orga (NNO). To this day, he still participates in various exhibition matches with the team, such as during the
Red Bull League of Its Own, where they faced G2 Esports then Tolkin's idol Lee "
Faker" Sang-hyeok and T1. His deep familiarity with the league and his strong presence within the community made him a natural choice to highlight and represent G2 Nord, mirroring similar influencer-driven approaches seen across other ERL teams.
"The team will operate as a high-performance academy environment"
G2 NORD also confirmed the identity of the players of their roster, previously reported by
Sheep Esports, with toplaner Francesco "
Shelfmade" Cardia, jungler Mark "
Markoon" van Woensel,
midlaner Alex “Toasty” Chea, AD Carry Khalil "
Rin" Sahraoui, and support Timo "
Tockimo" Bock — with
Nicolas Perez as Head Coach.
"The core ambition of G2 NORD is clear: to build the strongest League of Legends team in Germany, establish itself as a top EMEA Masters contender, and develop high-potential players within G2’s established competitive framework," the team wrote in the press release. "The team will operate as a high-performance academy environment, giving rising talent access to elite coaching, sports performance resources, and a clear path to pro."
With the roster and coaching staff fully assembled, one final piece has been added to ensure complete coverage of the team next season. A highly popular player-turned-streamer in Germany, Tolkin will broadcast G2 Nord’s matches throughout the year.
Developing the German Fanbase
In the press release, the CEOs of G2 Esports and NORD Esports also went into greater detail about the partnership between the two teams. "From the very beginning, G2 has always had the ambition to build a truly global organization, one that captures hearts and minds of fans all over the world,” said Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2. “That journey has allowed us to grow beyond anything we imagined, but along the way, we may not always have given enough love to some of our closest fans, especially in Germany. With initiatives like Kings League Germany and now G2 NORD, we want to change that in a meaningful way. This project is about reconnecting, listening, and building something that German fans can truly call their own."
For Michel Klepper, the CEO and co-founder of NORD Esports, this project is "a lifelong dream becoming reality. “From the very beginning, our goal has been to develop the best young talents, give fans a team to cheer for and take them with us on this exciting esports journey," he explained. "With G2 and Tolkin, we have found the perfect combination to bring this vision to life. G2 gives us the incredible opportunity to learn from the most successful team in the West and at the same time Tolkin is the ideal bridge to the community."
