League of Legends World Championship is set to begin on October 15, and the first team to secure its place at the tournament has now been confirmed. Following their victory over
during the
LCP Split 3 Swiss Stage on Sunday,
booked a spot in the playoffs. At the same time, the Vietnamese side also accumulated enough Championship Points to guarantee qualification for the year's biggest event, regardless of the outcome of their remaining matches.
The LCP will send three teams to the World Championship: the two finalists of Split 3 and one additional team through the Championship Points system. With 136 points, Team Secret Whales hold a 100-point advantage over fourth-placed
, making it mathematically impossible for them to miss out on Worlds regardless of their playoff finish.
are also close to qualify for the competition after winning MSI earlier this season but they will need to lock their spot in
LCK playoffs first.
Currently sitting at the top of the LCP regular season with a perfect 3-0 series record, Team Secret Whales have established themselves as the region's dominant force throughout 2026. After joining the league last year, the Vietnamese organization is now set to compete at the World Championship for a second consecutive season. They have already claimed both of the year's first two LCP splits, earning qualification for the first two international events of the season.
The team also impressed at the
Mid-Season Invitational, where they secured a statement victory over
on their way to a top-six finish. Unsurprisingly, Team Secret Whales once again enter the LCP playoffs as one of the favourites to claim the regional title, although they will likely need to raise their level further to challenge the world's best teams.
Among the remaining contenders, CTBC Flying Oyster are well positioned to secure a playoff berth, while
also remain in contention and possess enough Championship Points to qualify through that route should they fail to reach the Split 3 Grand Final.
