In a challenging opening match at the

,
managed to secure a 1-0 victory and will now face Bilibili Gaming in the next round. The Chinese team defeated Movistar KOI in the other Group C matchup, which took place alongside the series featuring Mun “
” Hyeon-jun and his teammates.
In a post-match interview with Sheep Esports, T1’s jungler discussed how the team needs to bounce back after the
Mid-Season Invitational, the confidence he still has moving forward in the season, and the players who have impressed him the most recently.
How do you feel after the win?
Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun: "Since it was our first match today, I really wanted to win, so I'm very happy we did.
After the loss at MSI, to get back to winning, what kind of mindset change did you have?
Oner: Since we showed a poor performance at MSI, we felt we absolutely had to change, and I think we resolved to work harder and study this meta more.
After falling to G2, what did you look back on?
Oner: Honestly, I thought our level of play was so poor at MSI that even if it hadn't been G2 and had been another opponent, we would have lost. So we took it as a matter of fixing ourselves as a team.
People think T1 isn't always the best team, but in the end, when you get to Worlds, you prove that you're the best. Do you still have confidence in that this year?
Oner: I do think we still have confidence. But we really want to win not only Worlds, but other tournaments as well, so we want to take it step by step and win every event ahead of us.
Do you watch the LEC? If you do, is there any team you think is underrated?
Oner: The LEC? Are LEC teams the ones like Karmine Corp?
(The interviewer mentions .) Right, G2 are LEC too. I don't really think they're being underrated, but I think G2 have a higher ceiling, so that's how I see it.
Recently, at MSI or in your matches, is there anyone you found to be a particularly impressive player?
Oner: I've thought Inspired (Kacper Słoma) was good for a long time, and at this MSI too he showed some strong moments here and there, so I think he's a good player.
You mentioned G2. Is there anyone among G2's players who you think is a bit underrated, or any player you're keeping an eye on?
Oner: I'm not sure about underrated, but I do think G2's top and jungle are really good, so I think those are areas worth watching."
