According to sources close to
Sheep Esports, Xan "
xan" Ng has reached a verbal agreement with Rex Regum Qeon ahead of
VCT Pacific Stage 2. It will mark the first Tier 1 appearance for the young player, who has spent nearly two years competing at the top level of Southeast Asia's Tier 2 scene. Having played both Duelists and Controllers throughout this year,
xan is set to join a roster that has struggled to find consistency in 2026 after surprising many last season, replacing Cahya "
monyet" Nugraha.
Competing in
VALORANT since 2020, xan is still only 19 years old and is now set to make his VCT debut after dominating the start of 2026 with Motiv Esports in the regional league. In 2025, he competed at VCT Ascension Pacific 2025 with NAOS Esports but fell short, finishing in the Top 5-6. After winning the Rest of SEA Qualifier, the Singaporean organization entered Split 1 and endured a difficult start to the competition. Defeated in their opening group-stage match, the team bounced back with a convincing win in their next series, enough to finish first in their three-team group despite a few scares along the way.
In the playoffs, Motiv secured back-to-back victories before losing to Sharper Esports in the upper bracket final and dropping to the lower bracket. It took a full Best-of-Five against 555 for xan and his teammates to reach the Split 1 Grand Final and earn a rematch against the Thai squad. This time, the momentum was different, with Motiv eventually claiming a 3-1 victory in the title match. Despite winning the championship, the Singaporean organization was forced to go through the Split 2 qualifier and failed to make it through, suffering an early elimination and missing the opportunity to defend its title in Challengers Southeast Asia.
Also capable of playing both Duelists and Controllers, monyet is expected to be the player making way following an inconsistent start to the season for RRQ. After qualifying for Masters Toronto and Champions 2025, the Indonesian organization has struggled to maintain that level. A Top 4 finish at Pacific Kickoff ended in disappointment as RRQ lost all three of its decisive matches: against Nongshim RedForce in the upper bracket, T1 in the middle bracket, and Paper Rex in the lower bracket. Falling just short of qualification for
Masters Santiago appears to have taken a toll on the team's confidence. RRQ was unable to secure another Top 4 finish during Stage 1, losing to a surprising Global Esports side before once again being eliminated by T1 in the playoffs.
Even so, Rex Regum Qeon do not appear far from returning to form, especially after successfully qualifying for the Esports World Cup. With Best-of-Five victories over DRX and Gen.G Esports, the Indonesian team will be heading to Paris in early July looking to deliver a strong result at its first international LAN of the season and build momentum ahead of VCT Pacific Stage 2.
