According to the new EMEA Masters qualification format
revealed by Sheep Esports on February 23, four teams from the Ligue Française de League of Legends will take part in the Winter edition of the tournament. Karmine Corp Blue has been invited as the league’s fourth seed, while the three remaining spots will go to the top teams from the LFL Invitational.
As Solary and Galions are already guaranteed to finish at least in the top three of the LFL Invitational, the question arose: are they already qualified? Sources have confirmed to Sheep Esports that this is indeed the case. Both organizations will therefore compete at the EMEA Masters.
So there’s only one remaining slot left to fill for EMEA Masters qualification in the LFL, a final spot that will be contested between French Flair, Joblife, Skillcamp, and TLN Pirates. As a reminder, playoffs are played in full BO5 and start on February 24.
Qualified before playoffs even begin
For both Solary and Galions, this early qualification validates a strong regular season ahead of playoffs. For Solary, it's historic: after seven years chasing Europe without success, the Tours-based org dominated the Super Group and finally breaks the curse. Galions, seen as favorites
since their huge recruitments in the last offseason, confirm their consistency with a podium lock. This will be the club’s second participation to the EMEA Masters since their rebranding a year ago.
As a reminder, by participating in the EMEA Masters, teams can earn a spot in Qualifier 2 against LEC teams to qualify for the Esports World Cup. Although their qualification for the EMEA Masters is already secured, Solary and Galions still have every reason to fight for the LFL title. The LFL’s first seed will be guaranteed a place in the Champions Round of the new EMEA Masters format, a very advantageous position that allows a team to reach the playoffs directly after just one BO3.
If either team finishes in the top 2 of the EMEA Masters, they will have a chance to face teams from the League of Legends EMEA Championship in an attempt to qualify for the Esports World Cup.
