Yusuf Emre “
Proxh” Tunc is set to make his return to VCT EMEA for Stage 2, replacing Conner "
GLYPH" Garcia on Gentle Mates. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, the German-Turkish player will rejoin the organization with which he made his debut in the league last year. The departure of GLYPH was first reported by AriVLRNT
on X, while KC_AR0N was first to report that Proxh would take his place on the roster.
Proxh is expected to be available for the Esports World Cup, for which M8 has already qualified, with the tournament set to take place in Riyadh beginning on July 8.
Necessary changes
With this move, Gentle Mates is making the bold decision to alter a roster that had initially delivered strong results during the first half of the season. The team produced impressive performances by finishing runner-up at the EMEA Kickoff and reaching the playoffs at Masters Santiago. Following less convincing results during Stage 1, Gentle Mates then made the significant decision to part ways with head coach Pavle “pakko” Kostić ahead of the playoffs. Despite securing a victory over Team Liquid, the team was comprehensively outplayed by Eternal Fire, resulting in elimination.
After implementing several tactical adjustments during the EWC EMEA Qualifier, M8 appeared to have discovered a new identity better suited to the strengths of the roster. Nevertheless, the organization, now coached by Jiri “KUNDIKUNDI” Honkala, ultimately chose to reinforce the lineup with an additional talent.
Proxh returns home
At 23 years old, Proxh is now set for a second stint in VCT with the same organization after previously representing Gentle Mates last year. What had initially been envisioned as a promising long-term project quickly turned into a nightmare for the French organization, which completed the group stage without a single victory. Not retained after that first spell, Proxh later joined Enterprise Esports, where both he and the team have enjoyed an almost flawless season so far.
Aside from a setback during VCL EMEA Stage 2, Enterprise and their player have won virtually every competition available to them this year. Having shown clear progression, primarily while playing Controller agents throughout the season, Proxh now earns a deserved return to Gentle Mates. The remaining question is whether this second stint will prove more successful than the first.
