Still without a win in the
2026 LEC Spring Season,
is enduring its most difficult period since joining the league in 2022. After achieving relative success in 2023 with a Worlds qualification, and remaining a strong contender in 2024—missing out on back-to-back Worlds appearances by just a single game—the former BDS core’s momentum has long faded. The
rebranded roster has since struggled to meet expectations in the LEC, leaving fans disappointed with the team’s results.
Now eliminated from the second split of the year and sitting at 0–7 without a single win, the organization must turn its attention toward a potential rebound in the summer split. It represents their last opportunity to salvage the year and avoid what would be the most disappointing season in the team’s history.
To that end, Shifters has already made
an early roster change, acquiring jungler
—who previously played a key role during the organization’s peak years after a year and a half away from the team. The move was made midway through the
recent road trip in Évry-Courcouronnes, where
reportedly learned of his benching while abroad.
Prior to the announcement of these changes,
Sheep Esports sat down with toplaner
for a short interview about his time in Europe, his team’s struggles, and his future within the Swiss organization.
Shifters is now sitting at 0–7. What do you think is going wrong with the team?
Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan: “Our laning phases is usually good, but we get lost in mid-late game. We need to talk more together. Sometimes, when we should be moving around the map, no one voices it, and we just play like NPCs. It’s a problem.
How is your relationship with your positional coach Lucas "Cabochard" Simon-Meslet, and how does he help you improve as a player?
Rooster: Cabochard has been really helpful to have around. Mostly, if I have ideas or opinions I want to share, he’s the one that helps me test them out and fill in any gaps in my game knowledge.
You often generate early gold leads for Shifters, but the team struggles to convert them into wins. Is this more of an individual issue or a team-wide problem?
Rooster: Usually, I tend to win 1v1s on toplane, but if I’m put on weakside, we don’t know how to win. The team tries to give me counter pick, or plan out some champions that can perform regardless of match-ups like Jayce or Rumble, but even if I have a lot of gold, I feel like we’re not using that properly as a team.
After almost a year in Europe, how do you feel about your time there, and do you have any regrets given the results?
Rooster: I like the LEC. Still, we’ve been losing since last summer, when I joined Team BDS. We lost some more in Winter, and now in Spring. It makes me really sad because I feel like I’m playing well and performing, but we just cannot find wins.
How do you see your future as a professional player?
Rooster: I would be fine playing in the LEC again next year, even if I don’t know what team I’ll be on. Still, if I do get a good contract in Korea, I’d have to think about that too. I like both leagues equally—it depends on the quality of the offer.”
