Teased a few weeks ago by Jian "

League of Legends Classic is finally in development, as Riot Games confirmed in an announcement posted on social media this Friday, June 26. In the statement, the North American publisher did not reveal much but explained that more details should be shared during the
Mid-Season Invitational grand final on July 11.
As with what Blizzard did with World of Warcraft, Riot Games aims to re-engage its aging fanbase by delivering a dose of nostalgia. Even if the official video does not reveal much, several details have already been shared by Andrei “RiotMeddler” van Roon, Head of League Studio, on Reddit, or datamined by the community itself.
Everything we know so far about LoL Classic
As reported by SkinSpotlights and LeagueOfLeaks on X, more than sixty champions are expected to be available in this game mode. Indeed, LoL Classic could simply be implemented within the current MOBA launcher, similar to ARAM or other modes. In addition to featuring champions, they will also bring back their kits from that era, as confirmed by RiotMeddler, and will face off on the old map that was used between 2009 and 2014.
He also confirmed the presence of the old version of Urgot, reworked in 2017, and Graves, prior to his rework in 2015.
In addition to the legacy versions of champions, old items will also return, along with the former rune and mastery system, which were removed in 2017. With this game mode, players will also have an additional progression system exclusive to LoL Classic, separate from the main game, ranging from level 1 to 30, as well as an additional shop using IP to unlock champions and runes. As a bonus, the game mode is also expected to feature its own battle pass.
