League of Legends’ 2026 season has officially begun, and with it, the huge
Patch 26.1 was released. In this update, one champion that got particular focus was Rengar, to whom Riot delivered a “heavy re-script,” fixing a whopping 17 bugs plaguing the pridestalker.
This Rengar re-script constituted the bulk of the bug-fix list arriving with the new season. Essentially, the new scripting will affect all of Rengar’s abilities, including his iconic leaping passive. Most of the problems fixed appear to come from the passive, Unseen Predator, as well as his camouflaging Ultimate, Thrill of the Hunt. Such problems fixed include targeting other invisible champs, gaining the proper buffs from Ultimate damage amplification, spotty wall-leaping, and more.
Other issues did get solved with Rengar’s other abilities, like his E, Bola Strike, which apparently completely failed to root specifically Dr. Mundo. Finally, Rengar can personally ensure that in their 1v1, Dr. Mundo goes where he pleases no more.
A wide champion pool with plenty of potential bugs
Hopefully,
Rengar’s fixes signal a priority at Riot to tackle some of their buggier champions. With a huge 172-champ-strong roster, it’s no surprise that some champions fall out of Riot’s watchful eye. Champions falling into the unfortunate Venn diagram between complex coding and an unpopular pick rate, like Yorick, have seen their fans publish entire documents online detailing page after page of bugs.
But with this patch, and hopefully the next patches to come, more champions will join Rengar in getting some much-needed love in the game’s code. Some champions even had to receive full reworks, with their base code abandoned or heavily reworked. With every patch, the development team publishes a long list of bug fixes, so be sure to check whether yours is included and don’t hesitate to
report any bugs you encounter.
