Martin “
” Larsson has officially received his commemorative ring for
’s victory at the
2024 League of Legends World Championship, marking a symbolic milestone in the Swedish player’s career following his time in South Korea. He shared a video on May 31st on his X account to showcase the ring and thank T1 for the experience.
Although Rekkles did not play on stage during the tournament, he was registered as T1’s official substitute and was therefore eligible for the same physical rewards as the starting lineup. His name is also included on the Worlds trophy, in accordance with Riot Games’ rules regarding registered team members.
A symbolic reward for a supporting role
Rekkles initially
joined T1 to compete in the LCK Challengers League with the organization’s academy roster, but was also listed as the sixth player for the main team throughout Worlds 2024. While he did not appear in any official matches, he remained integrated within the team environment, taking part in practice sessions and internal preparation during the event.
Under Riot’s rules, substitute players on a title-winning roster receive the championship ring. However, eligibility for
in-game cosmetic rewards follows stricter criteria. Players must participate in at least two matches during the Swiss stage or one match in the knockout stage to earn a Worlds skin. As a result, Rekkles will not receive a champion skin tied to the victory.
The ring itself was delivered several months after the final, arriving at T1’s headquarters in Seoul after Rekkles had already returned to Europe. He was able to collect it during a recent visit to South Korea, sharing the moment in a short video posted on his social media.
A meaningful step in a transition year
In that video, Rekkles reflected openly on his role in the team’s success, acknowledging the limited impact he had on the title run while emphasizing what the moment represents to him. “It’s a huge honor to be part of history,” he said. “Whether it’s a ring, a jacket, or any kind of memorabilia, it’s a way to capture a very happy memory. I know I only played a very small role in all of this, but it still means a lot to me.”
Rather than framing the ring as a personal competitive achievement, Rekkles described it as a symbol of a positive period in his career, especially after several challenging years in recent seasons. Following difficult stints with
and later in the LFL with
, as well as time spent on the sidelines, his move to T1 marked a reset both professionally and personally.
Looking back, he highlighted 2024 as a rare bright spot. “It’s something I really cherish, especially considering how tough some of my previous years have been. It’s nice to have 2024 stand out as a very, very happy memory,” he explained. He also took the opportunity to thank T1 for including him in the project: “Thank you for giving me this and for letting me be part of something as prestigious as T1’s history. You are legends.”
