On Monday, 100 Thieves announced the arrival of Alex
"poiii" Nyholm Sundgren for the upcoming 2026
Counter-Strike 2 season. The Swedish rifler has emerged in recent months as one of the most closely watched young profiles on the European scene. After an initial notable stint with
Lilmix in 2024, he joined
EYEBALLERS in July 2024, the organization with which he completed his first full season at the professional level.
In 2025, he began the year under the EYEBALLERS banner before leaving the team at the beginning of July. Shortly after his departure,
Alliance officially announced his signing to their
Counter-Strike 2 roster, presenting him as one of the most promising prospects in Swedish
CS. From that point on, poiii has been stringing together tier-two competitions with Alliance, including
DreamHack Knockout Stockholm 2025, Svenska Cupen 2025, and CCT Season 3 Europe Series 12.
A still-developing CS2 return for 100 Thieves
For 100 Thieves, the signing of poiii fits into the context of a very recent return to Counter-Strike 2. The North American organization officially announced its comeback to CS2 in November 2025 through a major partnership with Roobet and the creation of a roster branded as "100 Thieves Roobet".
At this stage, the club has primarily focused on building its infrastructure, notably appointing Sean "sgares" Gares as Head of FPS and Graham "messioso" Pitt as Head of CS Operations, while unveiling Håvard "rain" Nygaard as the first player on the new lineup. In this context, bringing in a young European rifler such as poiii will clearly represent an investment in long-term potential rather than the signing of a star already established at the top of tier-one.
On the back of a full 2025 split between EYEBALLERS and Alliance, with a high volume of maps played and a series of convincing results, he would embody a player still on an upward trajectory, capable of offering 100 Thieves a mechanically strong option that can be developed over time as the organization defines the competitive identity of its new CS2 project, all within a framework already anchored by an experienced veteran like rain.
