The first week of competition
in the LEC concluded on Monday, and no team has yet emerged as a clear leader in the standings. Seven teams are currently tied with a 2–1 record,
while Los Ratones sit alone at the bottom with three losses. In an exceptionally close opening week, during which teams unveiled their new rosters for the first time, numerous players showcased both their strengths and their areas for improvement.
The first Sheep Esports LEC Team of the Week of 2026 — with a maximum of two players per team — features Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan in the toplane, Javier "Elyoya" Prades in the jungle, Ilias "nuc" Bizriken in the midlane, Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek as AD carry, and Polat "Parus" Çiçek as support. For his consistently strong performances throughout the weekend, nuc earned this week’s Most Valuable Player.
Toplaner: Naak Nako
The Turkish toplaner has unsurprisingly established himself as
Team Vitality’s standout performer
during this opening week. With a lane-dominant Aatrox, Naak Nako put Martin "
Wunder" Hansen under significant pressure in his return to the LEC. Despite a loss to Natus Vincere on day two, he secured a solo kill on Volodymyr "
Maynter" Sorokin, though he appeared as the only danger in his team. Finally, he thoroughly dismantled
the young roster of Karmine Corp Blue, both in lane and in teamfights, delivering a strong Renekton performance that earned him the game’s MVP award.
Jungler: Elyoya
Movistar KOI’s jungler could hardly have asked for a better start to the year. Facing two major tests in the opening week against G2 Esports and Karmine Corp, Elyoya produced two solid and dominant performances against high-caliber opposition. His Jayce proved highly impactful against G2, while his Jarvan IV punished KC’s mistakes at key moments to swing the game back in his team’s favor. Although he delivered a relatively uneventful performance against Shifters in the final match, as did the rest of his team, this does little to detract from his first two outings.
Midlaner: nuc (MVP)
In the end, one Moroccan player stood out this weekend. Shifters’ midlaner and franchise player is our MVP of the week. Across the three games, nuc delivered the most convincing and consistent performances on his team. Narrowly defeated by GIANTX, he came close to carrying his squad to victory. He then produced a strong showing against Team Heretics and claimed the game’s MVP award. Riding that momentum, he helped bring down Movistar KOI, who had appeared untouchable, putting Joseph "Jojopyun" Pyun under pressure in lane with an unconventional Cassiopeia pick.
AD Carry: Noah
Despite strong competition from Lee "SamD" Jae-hoon and Park "Paduck" Seok-hyeon, Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek ultimately carried GIANTX throughout this opening week. In a first game that appeared to be slipping away against Shifters, his perfectly executed Kai’Sa secured a decisive triple kill that brought his team back into contention before narrowly sealing the victory. He followed up the next day against G2 Esports with a Varus performance that exploited his laning strength against Steven "Hans Sama" Liv before closing out the game in teamfights. Against Team Heretics, however, he suffered from his team’s mistakes and was forced to concede with limited impact.
Support: Parus
In his first week with Natus Vincere, Parus delivered a strong opening showing, with his team emerging as one of the pleasant surprises of the competition. Drafted three times onto engage supports, his Rakan consistently found the right openings to secure winning teamfights against Team Heretics, and similarly against Fnatic before the game ultimately slipped away from his team's side. His partnership with SamD placed opposing botlanes under sustained pressure throughout the weekend.
