Geekay Group, one of the leading gaming and entertainment groups in the Middle East, announced in a press release shared with Sheep Esports that its competitive division,
Geekay Esports, has qualified for the 2026
Esports World Cup (EWC) in ten different titles. The event is currently taking place in Paris and will run until August 23.
All chances for Geekay at EWC
The organization has already secured its place in
Apex Legends, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, Fortnite, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Call of Duty: Warzone, MLBB Women's Invitational, PUBG Mobile, Overwatch 2, and
Rainbow Six Siege X. Three additional qualification campaigns are still underway for the Saudi organization:
EA SPORTS FC with player "Lebrady_12",
Rocket League with captain Yanis
"Alpha54" Champenois, and
CrossFire.
For the latter, Geekay competes in Vietnam's CrossFire Vietnam League (CFVL) alongside other organizations that have invested in the title as part of the EWC, including Team Falcons and DRX. The season, which concludes in early August, will determine whether the Saudi club earns a place in Paris for the CrossFire competition. Geekay's roster is well positioned, currently sitting second in the full-season points standings.
The situation is different in Rocket League. After failing to qualify through the RLCS EMEA points system, Geekay will have to battle through the large Last Chance Qualifier, which will take place in Paris from August 8 to 10, ahead of the Rocket League tournament scheduled for August 12 to 16. Expected to feature nearly 128 teams, Geekay will have to overcome opponents from around the world to claim the final remaining spot at the EWC.
"
With French stars Alpha54, Mtzr (Mathis), and Fairy Peak (Victor Locquet) on the roster, they'll also have the chance to perform in front of a home crowd in Paris, which would make the moment even more special," said
Ragheed "ElConTeH" Hasson, Head of Esports at Geekay Esports. He hopes the team can qualify, adding that "
their journey from fighting through the LCQ to competing on the Esports World Cup stage would make for one of the tournament's best storylines."
“One of our biggest priorities this season”
This multi-title presence places Geekay Esports close to the top five organizations sending the most participants to the EWC. More notably, alongside Aurora, it is the only organization in the top 10 that is not an Esports Foundation partner. With ten qualified titles already and three more still within reach, Geekay could break into the top five, behind organizations such as Team Falcons and Team Vitality, while overtaking clubs including Gen.G Esports, Twisted Minds, and Team Liquid, which finished second in the Club Championship in 2025.
Despite competing in only three titles in 2025, Geekay still managed to earn 975 points and finish in the top 20 and earned $150,000 for it , ahead of organizations such as Natus Vincere, 100 Thieves, and Fnatic. That performance encouraged the club to make the Esports World Cup a major focus this year. "The Esports World Cup is absolutely one of our biggest priorities this season. It's the world's premier esports event, and we want Geekay Esports to compete at the highest level across as many titles as possible," ElConTeH explained.
In total, Geekay Esports' qualified titles provide access to approximately $19.3 million in combined prize pools at a tournament offering a record-breaking total of $45 million across all 25 game titles this year. Beyond the prize money available in each competition, Geekay will also compete against the previously mentioned organizations, and many others, in the Club Championship, which features a total prize pool of $30 million. To maximize its earnings from the Club Championship, each of the Saudi organization's divisions will need to deliver the strongest possible results in their respective titles, with performances translating into points that determine the final standings.
