This Tuesday,
the Esports Foundation unveiled the full rosters that will compete in the
VALORANT tournament at the Esports Nations Cup. Finland’s roster consists of:
The Finnish team includes several players with extensive experience at the highest level of
VALORANT, such as Jamppi and Derke, two of the country's most recognizable names. Jamppi has made a name for himself since the beginning of the VCT franchise, first with Team Liquid, then with BBL, and now with Vitality.
Meanwhile, Derke spent several years with Fnatic, winning multiple international trophies and cementing his reputation as one of the most successful duelists in EMEA. Together with KUNDIKUNDI, they provide Finland with a core that is accustomed to competing on some of the biggest stages in VALORANT. They qualified for an international event with only one split in VCT EMEA.
Beyond its international stars, the Finnish team benefits from a strong domestic foundation. Players such as Iluri, Famsii, and H1ber have spent much of their careers in the Nordic ecosystem. Thanks to their familiarity with one another and the regional scene, they should help the roster develop synergy quickly. This balance of internationally proven talent and established local players could enable Finland to adapt more quickly than many of its rivals, despite the limited time available for national teams to prepare.
As a reminder, 16 of the 32 participating nations received direct invitations to the tournament’s main event. Finland has 3,675 points across its five starting players and is officially among the invited nations. They will not have to go through the qualifiers to participate in the main event, from November 8 to 11 in Riyadh.
