According to leaks from Big Bad Bear andLeague of Legends Leaks & News X account, the next League of Legends champion set to be released would be Locke. He claims the champion will be revealed in next week’s motion comic. According to him, Locke would be an AP-oriented champion with an Assassin or Bruiser playstyle, possibly similar to Ekko or Diana.
In the illustration, Locke is shown holding a dagger-like weapon that appears to be made of petricite, an anti-magical material from Demacia. Discovered by the first settlers in the form of a petrified forest, this white material, derived from fossilized wood altered by Runes, has the unique ability to absorb and dissipate magic, and is commonly used in the construction of buildings and statues.
Over 170 champions
Locke would also become the 16th champion from the region of Demacia, one of the many regions that make up the lore of League of Legends, alongside Piltover, Ionia, or the Freljord. Several highly popular champions are part of this region’s lore, such as Garen, Lux, Sylas, Xin Zhao, and Jarvan IV. Locke will be added to that list to the delight of both LoL players and lore fans.
There are currently 172 champions in the game, with the most recent releases being Mel, Yunara, and, most recently, Zaahen. The game continues to grow in both diversity and complexity, with each new champion bringing not only unique abilities and gameplay, but also a multitude of combos and synergies to explore with the roughly 170 champions that came before them.
