The
LEC Spring Split 2026 concluded last Sunday with a scenario similar to the LEC Versus, as
once again defeated
in the grand final after a five-game series. A few days after the final chapter of the competition, the statistics platform
Esports Charts revealed the event’s viewership figures.
The first notable statistic is the peak viewership of the tournament, which unsurprisingly occurred during the grand final with 562,322 viewers. This represents a higher audience than the Spring 2025 final between
and G2 Esports (509,010 viewers), but it remains significantly lower than the LEC Versus final, which also featured KC and G2 (734,933 viewers). The grand final was also the only match of the event to surpass the 500,000-viewer mark.
A massive audience through co-streamers
Among the five most-watched matches of the competition, every spot was occupied by games involving Karmine Corp, Movistar KOI, and G2 Esports. Most of these matches were playoff encounters between the three teams. While no matches from the LEC Roadtrip in Évry-Courcouronnes made the top five, the KC versus MKOI clash from the LEC Roadtrip in Madrid secured third place. The match generated significant hype due to the pre-match disputes between the CEOs of the two organizations.
The distribution of viewers highlights a phenomenon that is becoming increasingly prominent in esports: co-streamers now attract the majority of the audience. Nearly 70% of viewers followed the competition through co-streams, with Marc “Caedrel” Lamont, Ibai “Ibai” Llanos, and Kamel “Kameto” Kebir recording the largest audiences during the matches. Only 30% of viewers, less than a third of the total audience, still followed the competition through the official broadcasts.
It is not unusual for Spring Split viewership numbers to be less impressive than those of the season’s opening tournament. However, it is worth noting that the average viewership was lower this year (196,438) compared to 2025 (228,090). Throughout the competition, many fans expressed concerns regarding the format and the Roadtrip events, arguing that the schedule sometimes resulted in their favorite teams not playing for two weeks, which reduced their interest in the tournament. It remains to be seen whether the same format used for the Summer Split will prove more convincing for the fanbase.
