Team Heretics will retain one of the key pieces of their roster this year. With the majority of the lineup currently approaching the end of their contracts and the Spanish organization looking to continue their
VALORANT project, the team has decided to extend Enes "
RieNs" Ecirli's contract for 2027 and 2028, sources tell
Sheep Esports. Still according to sources close to Sheep Esports, RieNs was one of the players several organizations had shortlisted for next year, making him a potential focal point of the upcoming transfer window.
Only Martynas "
koshmaras" Namikas is currently under contract through 2028, according to the
VALORANT Contract Database. With VCT partner slots set to be renewed soon, Team Heretics are reaffirming their ambition to remain at the highest level of the region while maintaining the core that has represented the organization in recent years.
A strong element of the roster
Joining the Spanish organization at the end of 2023, RieNs made his
VCT EMEA debut the following season at just 18 years old. He quickly established himself as an essential part of a young roster, proving capable of delivering in a wide variety of situations. Team Heretics failed to win a trophy during his first season despite reaching four finals across the VCT circuit. Despite that disappointment, RieNs was still named
Initiator of the Year for two consecutive seasons. Team Heretics had also won the
VALORANT tournament at the Esports World Cup in 2025, defeating Fnatic in the Grand Final.
This year, he has once again continued to deliver despite Team Heretics' struggles. After a disappointing Kickoff and a concerning start to Stage 1, the Spanish side ultimately won the competition, securing its first VCT title since joining the league. Despite renewed difficulties in Stage 2, RieNs has continued to hold his own and currently boasts the highest average rating on his team.
This re-signing comes just a few hours after the Spanish club was eliminated by Eintracht Frankfurt in the play-in and after finishing the year in 11th or 12th place in this final split of 2026.
By choosing to continue with the player, Team Heretics intend to build their future in the league around the same core that has represented the organization over the past few years. At 21 years old, RieNs still has plenty of room to develop and could remain an important part of the team's project for years to come.
