LEC Summer Split 2026 Team of the Week 1

Relocated to Paris for the Roadtrip hosted by , the opening week of the LEC Summer Split delivered on its promise. The Blue Wall emerged as the main protagonist of its home event, winning all three of its matches against its invited opponents: , , and .

The clash between KC and the Samurai, both entering the match with 2-0 records, was undoubtedly the highlight of this opening summer weekend, producing a best-of-three of the highest calibre. Meanwhile, Vitality avoided an 0-3 start by defeating MKOI in its third match, leaving the Spanish side to depart Paris on the back of a seventh consecutive defeat over the past two months.

For its first Team of the Week of the Summer Split, and given that only four teams competed this weekend, Sheep Esports made an exception to its usual rule of selecting no more than two players from the same team. With the limit exceptionally raised to three, Karmine Corp places a trio in our TOTW: Kim "" Chang-dong, Kang "" Yea-hoo (MVP), and Caliste “” Henry-Hennebert. Completing the lineup are two G2 Esports players: Rudy “” Semaan and Labros "" Papoutsakis.

Canna set the tone from Karmine Corp's very first game against Vitality. The Korean toplaner dictated the pace on Twisted Fate and electrified the crowd with a 1v1 that had seemed all but lost against Linas "Lyncas" Nauncikas' Jarvan IV. Against Movistar KOI, his standout Gnar performance and several crucial teamfights that enabled Alan "Busio" Cwalina's Shen were particularly noteworthy. However, it was against G2 that Canna truly shone, delivering tailor-made performances on Jayce and Yone that earned him Player of the Series honours.

Thriving in the current carry jungle meta, SkewMond produced an excellent opening week. A 2,000-gold lead at 15 minutes over Javier “Elyoya” Prades while playing Vi in Game 2 against MKOI, followed by flawless KDAs in Game 2 against Vitality on Lee Sin and against KC on Naafiri, illustrated the French jungler's consistency as G2's metronome. His duel with Martin “Yike” Sundelin was one of the defining matchups of the weekend, particularly in the deciding game, where both junglers enjoyed outstanding early games. Although it ultimately was not enough to secure the series, SkewMond's Olaf posed significant problems for Karmine Corp.

For several weeks now, kyeahoo has established himself as Karmine Corp's driving force. Building on his performances from the Spring Split and the Mid-Season Invitational, the Korean midlaner once again delivered an outstanding showing. He made an immediate statement in the Roadtrip opener, handing An "FIESTA" Hyeon-seo an unforgiving baptism of fire with Syndra. Yet it was against the reigning three-time LEC champions that kyeahoo truly stood out. His Sylas proved to be a constant nightmare for the Samurai, epitomised by his remarkable 1v2 outplay against G2's solo laners. It was a performance of the highest order, laying the foundations for KC's Game 1 victory and earning him our MVP award.

Caliste was hardly short of solo kills this week either. The Karmine Corp AD Carry added another to his tally against David “Supa” Garcia in Game 2 versus MKOI. Despite coming under sustained pressure from G2's early-game plans throughout the series, Caliste held firm and once again showcased his exceptional proficiency on bot-lane mages. His Viktor 1v2 in Game 1 against the Samurai was among the defining plays of the evening, while the nearly 50,000 damage he dealt on Caitlyn in Game 3 proved to be one of the decisive factors behind KC's victory.

While Busio's Camille in the opening game against Vitality attracted much of the attention, Labrov also deserves recognition. As dictated by the current meta, G2's support was constantly involved across the map, providing invaluable assistance to every lane, particularly through the global impact of his Shen ultimate — with whom Labrov remains undefeated after three appearances. On Taric in Game 3 against KC, the Greek support repeatedly looked to create opportunities, especially through aggressive bot-lane dives, even if those attempts ultimately met with limited success over the course of the game.
