" Jae-hyuk, what the pentakill record means to him, and the fans who fuel his drive.
Today, you got your revenge from Round 1 and even took home the Player Of the Match Award. Can you share how you feel about the win and the POM?
Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan: "We lost in Round 1, so I prepared a lot for today and came in really wanting to win. Winning like this and getting POM on top of it feels amazing.
What do you think was the key factor in today's win?
Peyz: I think winning Game 2 was huge. We stayed focused until the end, and I think that's why we won.
Game 1 didn't look easy. Gen.G pulled out mid Rumble as a pocket pick. How did you see Game 1 playing out, and how much do you think the draft influenced the result?
Peyz: In Game 1, my mindset was that if nothing went wrong early and it played out smoothly, we'd win. But early game, the gap widened more than we expected, and the game got pretty tough.
There were a lot of teamfights today, especially in Game 2. What was going through your mind during those teamfights? Were you feeling a lot of pressure, or did you go in with full confidence that you'd win?
Peyz: It was a really close game. I felt like it could've gone either way, so toward the end of Game 2... also, long games like that don't really happen these days, so I was pretty nervous. But the result worked out well in the end.
Game 2 was a perfect comeback and probably the longest game of the season. It must have been exhausting in-game. What kind of comms were going on toward the end of that long game?
Peyz: Toward the very end, as a team, we felt like we had better value than the other team, and our comp was easier to teamfight with. So we all had the mindset that if we just held our positioning well, we'd win. And I think we stuck to that together, and that's how we won.
I remember you've mentioned having a lot of respect for Rule since your Gen.G days. Beating a player you've always looked up to must feel even more special. What does this win mean to you?
Peyz: I've always learned a lot from watching Ruler, and I think he's really good. Winning today gives me a lot of confidence going forward. I feel like I can play even better in the next match.
You currently hold the record for most pentakills across all major regions. What would you say is the secret or driving force behind achieving such a huge milestone in such a short time?
Peyz: Honestly, the pentakill record isn't something I think of as a super significant record. But still, being number one at something, having that title... I think that's pretty cool.
There are a lot of players closing in on your record. Any message you'd like to send regarding that?
Peyz: I'll keep getting pentakills so I can stay at the top.
Lastly, could you say a word to the fans cheering for you from overseas?
Peyz: Something I've really felt throughout my career is just how much support comes in, not just from Korea but from fans overseas too. I'm so grateful for that. All of that support from abroad really gives me strength. I hope you'll keep cheering for me and looking forward to what's ahead. Thank you."
