From the Ancient Olympic Games in 776 BC to the Esports Nations Cup in 2026, Greece continues to maintain its presence, once again fielding a team to represent Hellas in League of Legends, led by Vasilis "TheRock" Voltis, who will serve as the Head Coach of the national squad, sources tell Sheep Esports on Tuesday. Sources have also shared with Sheep Esports that former Team Phantasma coach Panagiotis "Tython" Kobothekras should help TheRock as Assistant Coach.
TheRock is currently the Head Coach of Natus Vincere in the
League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC). At 36 years old, this is his first year in Tier 1, where he has managed to build a competitive roster made up of rookies that has been performing well. Before that, he led Karmine Corp Blue to two LFL titles in 2025 before joining NAVI at the end of the Summer, without being able to compete at the EMEA Masters with KCB.
The decision to appoint TheRock as Head Coach for League Of Legends was taken by Anastasios Eleftheriadis, Greece’s National Team Manager for the Esports Nationas Cup, and Event Director of “Clash Of The Olympians” (fighting games tournament).
Potential rosters for Greece
In the toplane, Fnatic player Panagiotis "
" Tantis stands out as an obvious choice to represent Greece. He could be joined in the jungle by Angelos "
Pallet" Visvikis, current Hellenic Legends League champion with WLGaming Esports.
In midlane, his teammate at Fnatic is the favourite, namely LEC champion Vladimiros "
" Kourtidis. Vasilis "
Tsiperakos" Lalas and Petros "
Peppe" Berdebes, respectively Winter HLL champion and finalist, could also be in contention for substitute roles within the roster.
In the AD Carry position, former LEC player now with Joblife, Markos "
" Stamkopoulos, is an option, though Paraskevas "
Unkn0wn5" Fragkos from WLG could also be considered. Finally, G2 Esports support Lampros "
Labrov" Papoutsakis should be in prime position for the support role, otherwise, if selected, Comp could be joined by his former teammate and former LEC player, Mertai "
Mersa" Sari.
All information about the ENC 2026
Scheduled from November 2 to 29 for its first edition in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, the nation-based competition, the largest in esports history, is expected to bring together thousands of players from around a hundred countries, competing across nearly 16 games. Alongside the League of Legends tournament, set to take place from November 21 to 29, there will also be nation-based competitions in VALORANT, Counter-Strike, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six: Siege. For Riot Games’ MOBA title, around 32 teams, each representing a nation, will compete on site.
Before that, the participants still need to be decided. The Esports Foundation, which oversees the ENC and the Esports World Cup (two separate events), has decided that 16 teams out of the 32 will qualify directly for the final tournament, based on the results of their representatives in Riot Games’ official competitive circuits. The other participants will have to go through seven regional qualifiers, each offering two spots. The remaining two slots will reportedly be allocated by the ENC in the form of wildcards, likely at the discretion of the event organizers.
EDIT: This article has been updated to include the addition of Panagiotis "Tython" Kobothekras to Greece's national team as Assistant Coach.
