Revealed in early August,
Spiritforged is the second set of Riftbound, Riot Games’ trading card game set in the League of Legends Runeterra universe. Scheduled for release in late 2025 in China and in February 2026 worldwide with its English edition, this new expansion will introduce a fresh lineup of League of Legends characters who were not featured in the first set,
Origins. To recap, that initial set — launching on October 31 in its English version — includes nearly 40 champions and
over 300 unique cards, compared to just over 200 cards in
Spiritforged.
As outlined in a recent announcement, the North American publisher is planning to release eight new sets over the next two years (2026 and 2027), with
Spiritforged kicking things off this coming February. With a new set expected every three months, the gap between the Chinese and English releases should gradually close, aiming for synchronized global launch dates in the near future.
With over 200 brand-new cards, Spiritforged promises to introduce fresh lore elements and feature additional champions from the
League of Legends universe. Alongside this major set release, Riot Games also confirmed in
its press release that two new Champion Decks will be launching at the same time, along with other yet-to-be-announced content.
