This weekend, the final stage of the
League of Legends EMEA Championship Versus took place in Badalona, on the outskirts of Barcelona. Organized by
as part of the roadshow circuit, alongside Riot Games, the three-day event featured three best-of-five series at the Olimpic Arena, which has a standard basketball capacity of 12,760 seats.
Adam Adamou, Chief Executive Officer of OverActive Media, the company that supports and operates KOI, reflected on the event and noted: “
We delivered a profit.”
In a post published on X this Sunday, February 1, following
2 Esports’ grand final win over , Adamou shared his satisfaction after the weekend. In the lengthy message, he primarily thanked fans for attending, while also acknowledging Mira Broadcast, the Spanish company responsible for the overall production of the
LEC Finals. He concluded with a clear message: “
We delivered a great show. We delivered a profit.”
An indirect response to the criticism voiced by parts of the European esports community, which had pointed out that the Olympic Arena appeared partially empty throughout the weekend. For Adam Adamou, however, the event was a success, with nearly 15,000 attendees passing through the venue over the three days to watch G2, Karmine Corp,
and KOI battle it out on the Rift. In 2025, KOI had already hosted a similar event in Madrid, though it was not a split final. That two-day event featured four matches and welcomed close to 18,000 spectators to the Madrid Arena, which has 12,000 seats.
The Badalona weekend marked the first roadshow of 2026,
but not the last, as Riot Games had announced earlier this year. After this opener, Karmine Corp will host its own event at the Arena d’Évry-Courcouronnes, a 3,000-seat venue where the organization is based,
from April 24 to 26. The circuit will then return to Spain, more precisely to Madrid, for another KOI-hosted event from May 8 to 10. Madrid and KOI will close out the LEC season with a final competition weekend from September 4 to 6, shortly after Karmine Corp is expected to stage another event during the Summer Split, although the dates and location have yet to be announced.
