"It'd be a blast to play against either G2 or BLG"
player reflected on his new team’s playstyle, as well as his expectations for the remainder of the season.
You just picked up your fourth straight win. How does it feel to get this victory?
Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyung: “Even for me personally, I haven't beaten Gen.G very often in the regular season, and Hanwha Life hasn't had a lot of wins against Gen.G either, so I think today's win was really valuable. I think it can be a really great source of momentum for our team.
Can you give us your overall assessment of today's series and the key to winning?
Gumayusi: I just feel like everyone's been in really good form across the board, and I think we've been riding great momentum in terms of our synergy and confidence, which is why we were able to win.
You banned Ezreal in both Games 1 and 2. What was the thinking behind that?
Gumayusi: Right now, Ezreal is a champion that can be flexed with a lot of different supports, and also because
is really good on Ezreal, so I think that's why we banned it.
In both games, it felt like HLE had a relatively favorable draft. How much do you think that contributed to today's win?
Gumayusi: Honestly, in terms of the drafts, I'd say it felt kind of fifty-fifty. But I just think our team played well, and that's why we won.
How important would you say the draft is in the current meta?
Gumayusi: Honestly, I think draft is always important regardless of the meta. Personally, I'd say draft accounts for at least sixty percent of the game.
A lot of people say that the mix of LCK and LPL players is one of your team's biggest strengths. When you're playing together, do you feel that blend of styles from the two leagues, [cough], or do you not really feel a big difference compared to a typical LCK team?
Gumayusi: Every league obviously has its own identity, but I think being good is just being good, you know? Lately, the LCK has consistently been performing well, and I think our synergy has just been clicking really well along those lines.
Is there an international team you've been wanting to play against since joining this team?
, who won First Stand — I think it'd be a blast to play against either of those two.
Since we're a global media outlet, a lot of international fans tune in too. Is there anything you'd like to say to them?
Gumayusi: I know there are a lot of international fans out there, and I've always been really grateful for that. I hope I get to compete in a lot of international tournaments going forward and get to meet as many of our fans abroad as I can.”
