stand second in the
LEC Spring Split 2026 regular season standings, but their players are not getting carried away just yet. With most of their wins conquered against “weaker” teams,
according to GX’s players, the team knows the real challenge lies in the upcoming weeks, just before playoffs.
In an interview with
Sheep Esports, GX ADC’s
keeps his expectations in check. While results looks good on paper, Noah highlights the importance of discipline as a pro player, emphasizing that GX’s true level of play will only show once they face the best teams in the league — starting with
.
You’re second overall in the standings, how do you feel about this spring split?
Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek: “Honestly, I think we met only the bottom four teams, so we are going to meet stronger teams after today. So I'm happy to win, but it doesn't mean that we are stronger than others or something.
also said the same on broadcast, that you've only faced weaker teams until now. How will you prepare for stronger teams in the next few weeks?
Noah: We almost qualify for playoffs, almost secured, so I think we have no pressure about that, and we can just focus on ourselves and what our enemies can play in-game. We don't need to be scared about “we can't go playoffs” or something. So I think we are in a good spot, so it can help us to play more aggressively.
Does it mean that you guys are focusing on something specific to improve, or are you just thinking of going more aggressive?
Noah: Improve ourselves and try to be more disciplined or have the same routine, because after one week, we have a three-week break, no matches, so we need to try to have the same routine and improve discipline.
Can you share your routine?
Noah: I mean, everyone is different, but for me, I'm trying to work out and eat healthy, trying to exercise, doing more exercise.
Last time that we talked, you said that your biggest issue during LEC versus was miscommunication. How did you work with your team to improve on that?
Noah: I think our communication is yes and no. I think we understand each other and we are doing the same play, and so I think this communication is getting better. Not perfect, but I think it's getting better.
You were talking about being consistent in your everyday schedule. Is there something that you're trying in-game to improve ahead of the upcoming matches?
Noah: I'm focusing on more sacrifice. For example, when I need to give a wave and to help the team, I'm trying to help the team more than before. Because before I was focusing on myself, to get more and more and more… Now I'm focusing more on the team, like I can bait or go for objectives.
Can you help players and fans watching you, maybe of lower elo, understand this better? Because there is this imagination that ADCs need to be the ones always put on top of priorities in-game.
Noah: I mean, in solo queue, I think you need to play yourself. I think you shouldn't sacrifice for the team.
What would you say is the difference between solo queue and pro play?
Noah: I think it's actually really different because when I play solo queue, I feel like it's not the same game. In solo queue, you just fight every minute, and let's see who wins. You just play with mechanics only, and you don't need to know who you're playing with. But in a team game, you need to communicate. It's a little different.
How important is it for you to have a good bond with your team and have a good communication when it comes to pro matches?
Noah: Because this game is a five-vs-five game, if you don't have a connection or understand each other with the team, then you just can't play. You cannot just play alone. Maybe toplaners can, but other players, I don't think so. I don't think you can play alone, so it's really important.
Now, coming to your next matches, is there anyone that you are really excited to go up against?
Noah: Vitality. Vitality is a really good team now. I think they are maybe in the top three strongest teams, so it's good to play against them. And if you win, it means we can beat the others, so it's good.
They are the first team right now, and in lane you’re going to go head-to-head with who has been performing really well lately. What do you think of his style as an ADC?
Noah: He's really, really aggressive. I think he's the most aggressive ADC in the league, and I think it's really fun playing against him. But I mean, I'm aggressive too, and so we’ll play, and someone will go 0/10, or someone will go 10/0, so let's see.
If you're comfortable, do you have any words to share with Carzzy ahead of your match?
Noah: Oh, I mean, I love Carzzy, but I love you when you are inting more. So please int when you meet me, then I will love you more.
Then, as a last question, last time we spoke about you and potentially going to Korea for doing military service or not being able to go back to Europe. Has that situation changed?
Noah: No. For Jun, this is his last year, probably. This year is last year, and I think I can play next year. I got some news that I can play next year, so I will play.”
