The second day of the playoffs from the 2026
League of Legends Championship Series (
LCS) Spring Split brought another electric series between two competitors. In another Week 6 regular season match-up rematch,
and
looked to secure their Finals Weekend spot in Arizona and a Winner’s Finals match against
.
Both teams threw accurate punches aimed to gain the upper hand. In the end, Team Liquid’s assault was not enough to topple LYON, as the Mexican Organization
ran away with the series with a close 3-2 score. Following the series against LYON,
Sheep Esports had their first English interview with Team Liquid’s top laner, Park “
" Ru-han. He shared his opinion on facing Niship “
" Doshi champion pool, his eagerness to play an international event or a Finals Weekend, and their match-up against LYON.
How difficult it is to play against a player with a weird champion pool like Dhokla?
Park “Morgan" Ru-han: “He can pick a strange Dhokla pick, but I don’t think it’s hard for me. Honestly, I don’t care too much.
Why don’t you care? Is it because of your experience playing against these champions when you played back in the LCK?
Morgan: I think both. I have a lot of experience, and I don’t really care about some of these champions.
Teams across the league have said it’s easy to prepare for Team Liquid because it’s easy to predict what your team is going to pick. Do you think TL players have a small champion pool?
Morgan: I’m not sure. Our draft is like we already talked about our communication with each other. I think our gameplay is more important than our draft. If we play well during the games, I think the draft shouldn’t be an issue. If we don’t play to each champion’s win condition, it will look as if we have draft issues. I don’t think it’s only a draft issue. I think we could do better during the game. I don’t only care about the draft.
What other issues do you think Team Liquid has?
Morgan: I think we should’ve played more aggressively. Today, we only played aggressively in some games, not all. If we benefit from it, we didn’t do that. I think this is the issue, and why we lost the series, in my opinion.
Team Liquid defeated LYON in the EWC qualifiers, but has only lost against them in the LCS. Why do you think TL struggles with LYON?
Morgan: First of all, from the outside, it might look a bit that way because we lost to LYON on stage, then beat them at EWC, and lost again today. I don’t think LYON is a team that is particularly hard to beat. Regardless of who the opponent is, if we play well in-game and execute the plays we’re supposed to make, I honestly don’t think there’s any team that is that difficult to beat. However, when we don’t properly do the things we’re supposed to do in-game. LYON is a team that catches those moments really well and then takes the turn back against us. So I think that’s why we lost. Still, I think that as long as we do what we’re supposed to do in-game, we can definitely beat them.
You’re going to face Shopify Rebellion next week as Team Liquid starts their Loser’s Bracket Run. Do you think you’re prepared to make it all the way to finals?
Morgan: Yeah. I think we’re still a strong team.
What does TL need to improve to become an even stronger team during their Loser’s Bracket run?
Morgan: I think we should make good things happen in-game. We should use our benefits and make sure we play well individually.
Back home, the LCK had roadshows like the T1 Home Ground in Seoul and even traveled for the KIWOOM DRX Home Front in Vietnam. The norm is to play in front of fans at the LCK Arena. However, here in the LCS, you’ve regularly played with no fans in attendance.
Morgan: Yeah…
How do you feel about playing in silence?
Morgan: It’s sad because I love Team Liquid fans and my fans. You know, it is what it is. I play and do my job. That’s why I really want to go to an international tournament, or to a Finals Stage, because there will be fans in attendance. I hope so.
There’s still time! Are you eager to qualify for Arizona?
Morgan: Yeah! I’m looking forward to qualifying for Finals in Arizona!
