After a few weeks of absence, the
LEC has returned to Europe. While fans will have to wait a few more days to see the players of
G2 Esports and
Shifters back in action, the other teams already made their return this weekend. After the first round of matches, many of the players who stood out during the
LEC Versus have once again been among the most prominent performers.
Sheep Esports’ Team of the Week, limited to a maximum of two players per team, features toplaner Volodymyr "Maynter" Sorokin, jungler Enes “Rhilech” Uçan, midlaner Joseph “Jojopyun” Pyun, AD Carry Matyáš "Carzzy" Orság, support Kadir "Fleshy" Kemiksiz. In recognition of two high-level performances this week, Jojopyun has been named our Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the week.
Toplaner: Maynter
Although his style of play remains relatively understated,
contributes significantly to his team through what might be described as work in the shadows. He creates space and provides the necessary setup to allow his jungler to carry, while also demonstrating the ability to operate effectively with limited resources, as he showed against KOI despite a few mid-game mistakes. Overall, he held the upper hand over
in their matchups against
and approached his teamfights with notable composure. His consistency and reliability across both matches earn him recognition this week.
Jungler: Rhilech
’s jungler has returned to demonstrate the full extent of his ability during the regular season.
secured two matches’ MVP awards in as many matches, notably thanks to his signature Aatrox pick, with which he finally managed to gain the upper hand over
in NAVI’s victory against
. He was also instrumental in his team’s more difficult and drawn-out games against
SK Gaming, delivering consistently solid performances. For now, Rhilech is confirming the promising form he had already shown during the LEC Versus.
Midlaner: Jojopyun (MVP)
The Canadian midlaner led KOI to victory during this opening week of the LEC. Initially defeated by NAVI,
nonetheless caused significant problems for
, keeping his team’s hopes alive for much of the series. He then went on to claim the match MVP award against Fnatic, first overwhelming
with Azir in the first game before fully controlling the teamfights with Lissandra to secure the second one.
AD Carry: Carzzy
came out on the losing side of a closely contested duel against
and
. Nevertheless, he confirmed a strong week two days later against
, first delivering an impressive performance on Ezreal before completely dominating the lane with a well-executed Caitlyn, aided by the contribution of his support. He was ultimately awarded the MVP of that match and finished the opening weekend with the highest damage per minute.
Support: Fleshy
Fleshy, for his part, continues to confirm the steady rise of Team Vitality’s botlane alongside Carzzy. The duo is increasingly capable of challenging the best botlanes in the LEC. Both Karmine Corp and Team Heretics suffered at the hands of his Bard, which repeatedly provided ideal setups and kills on a silver platter for Carzzy’s Caitlyn. He encountered more resistance against KC, where
offered a strong reply, but
will likely remember the reception given by the Turkish support during his first week in the LEC, particularly in the second game.
