Finlay
"rise." Ferguson marks his recent return to Europe with a new roster, linking up with Liam
"yujin" Daillac and English professional Ben
"Toxiic" Salmon. The team will compete under the name
Magnolia for the foreseeable future and are looking for an organization. The European trio will be eyeing their chances at the two upcoming Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ) for the
Esports World Cup (EWC) and the
Rocket League World Championship. They have already
signed up for the EWC LCQ in August alongside French team manager Melvin
"Natra" Garcia.
A final opportunity for success
With
RLCS 2026 almost over, the next few months represent a key opportunity for players to end the season on a high note. The upcoming LCQs allow teams to make unlimited changes and new rosters to form for a final chance at making a LAN this season. Europe, North America, South America, and the Middle East will each host an LCQ in July, with one spot at the RLCS World Championship per region up for grabs.
The EWC LCQ will take place from August 08 to August 10 on-site in Paris ahead of the EWC Main Event that same month, allowing one of 128 teams to secure the final slot in the tournament. The LCQ is open registration, enabling teams from around the world to sign up for the event if they can fund their way to the venue in Paris. Registration opened on June 05 and will close on July 31, giving teams plenty of time to sort out their situation. The EWC LCQ offers a $100,000 prize pool which will be split between the top 16 highest-placing teams at the event.
Rise makes his return to Europe
These two LCQs give Toxiic, rise, and yujin one final chance to reach a LAN this season, with all three having fallen short on their separate projects in RLCS 2026. Rise announced his return to Europe for the first time since departing Karmine Corp back in September 2024. The 21-year-old was released by Gen.G Mobil1 Racing following a poor season in North America, where he missed out on both the Boston and Paris Majors. It is currently on track to be the first season rise has not appeared at a LAN since RLCS 2021-22.
The veteran links up with former Gentle Mates professional yujin, who was offered tryouts with Gen.G and Dignitas in North America following the Paris Major. The 18-year-old prospect has firmly established himself as a professional in recent years, reaching his first RLCS LAN at the Raleigh Major last year. The duo have completed their roster with the addition of Toxiic, who competed on WIP Esports with Jamie "dayyshift" Anderst and Zeno "Compact" Sterkens during Split 2. The Englishman recently won week 2 of the FIFAe Nations League with England and has slowly fashioned himself a career in the RLCS with organizations like Endpoint and Al Qadsiah. The trio will face some fierce competition over the following months but could be a dark horse for qualification. Already many organizations from multiple regions have signed up to the EWC LCQ, including Man City Esports, Virtus.pro, FUT Esports, BS+ Competition, and Geekay Esports.
