With the return of
League of Legends Classic, one of the most
iconic champions from that era is back as well:
Warwick. Here's the best
build,
runes, and
masteries to get the most out of the champion.
Best build on Warwick on LoL Classic
Warwick's build in League of Legends Classic almost always started with Blade of the Ruined King. From there, players would transition into tankier items to improve his survivability in teamfights, as his kit already provided plenty of damage and self-healing.
- Starter Items: Hunter’s Machete and Health Potion
- Boots: Ninja Tabi
- Build: Blade of The Ruined King —> Spirit of The Ancient Golem —> Wit’s End —> Sunfire Cape —> Spirit Visage
Ability Order and Summoner Spells
When playing Warwick, prioritize Q, followed by E, and finally W.
Warwick's Summoner Spells for the jungle are fairly standard, with Flash for mobility and Smite to secure and clear jungle camps.
Best Runes & Masteries on Warwick on LoL Classic
Players will unlock Runes, Masteries, and additional Rune Pages through Classic Levels, with default pages available from the beginning to ensure everyone can immediately play.
Runes
To unlock Runes, you had to earn Influence Points (IP) by playing games. Those IPs were then used to purchase runes individually, which meant it took quite a few matches to complete a full rune page.
Warwick thrives with both Attack Speed and Attack Damage, making Attack Speed Marks and Attack Damage Quintessences the best choices for boosting his overall damage. Armor Seals improve his early jungle clear while giving him an edge in early skirmishes against opposing junglers.
For Glyphs, Magic Resist is the safest option to reduce incoming magic damage. If the enemy team lacks early AP threats, Scaling Magic Resist Glyphs are a strong alternative, offering greater survivability later in the game.
- x9 Greater Mark of Attack Speed
- x9 Greater Seal of Armor
- x9 Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
- x3 Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
Masteries
To unlock
Masteries in
League of Legends Classic, all you had to do was play games. They were unlocked fairly quickly after just a handful of matches. These are the best masteries for Warwick Jungle:

What's different from the current version of Warwick
- There are a lot of differences between the original version of Warwick and the one roaming through our solo queue games today. While his current Q lets him leap onto an enemy, it used to simply deal damage and heal Warwick.
- His W has also changed significantly: today it grants bonus movement speed toward low-health enemies, whereas the original version caused Warwick's basic attacks to heal him.
- His E is probably the biggest difference. Nowadays, it reduces incoming damage before fearing nearby enemies when it ends. Back then, it instead granted bonus attack speed to both Warwick and nearby allies.
- His R, on the other hand, hasn't changed all that much. Warwick still leaps onto an enemy and suppresses them, but unlike today, the original version was a point-and-click ability rather than a skillshot.
