Heavily defeated by
this Sunday,
have now suffered a fifth consecutive loss, further diminishing their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. After two defeats this week, the Spanish team sits at the bottom of the standings, with only three matches remaining in which they must attempt to turn the situation around and hope that results fall in their favor.
Following this latest defeat, the team’s jungler,
, spoke with
Sheep Esports about the mistakes that led to the loss and the remaining hopes for the rest of the competition.
What's your first reaction after this game?
Théo "Sheo" Borile: “A crushing defeat, couldn't do much, they were better than us.
It's your second defeat this week. What happened between yesterday and today?
Sheo: I think we all had the same idea of how we wanted to play. There were individual misplays in some teamfights, and after the early games, behind, it's hard to come back with our comps.
In both games, you lose a skirmish in the early game. Where does it come from? Do you lack lucidity? Are you not on the same page, or are there mechanical mistakes?
Sheo: I would say on the first game, I missplayed mechanically because we don't kill the Xin Zhao directly. In the second game, I think he shouldn't be able to take the Scuttle bot. The fact that he can double Scuttle puts me behind in the game, so I try to create a fight, but they win the 2v2.
You still have three games to play in the regular season. Do you feel like you can't make another mistake?
Sheo: I think we're already screwed. We'll see the maths, but we're in a really bad position.
But mathematically, you're not eliminated.
Sheo: We'll try, obviously. Even if there's only 1 %, we'll do our best. But as we lose five BO3s at the start, we’re going to need a big breakthrough to improve.
Do you think that the current state is normal compared to the progression you should have with a new support?
Sheo: I don't think it's going as we want. With the changes we made, there should have been an improvement in botlane and in the team overall. So for now, the player change doesn't show the results it should have.
How is going with ? You said at the beginning of the split that he had some difficulties with English, is it going better in-game now?
Sheo: The English, he's the same, he tries to speak as much as he can. I think he understands, but he has trouble speaking in-game. So
) always translates. Otherwise, we tried to be on the same wavelength, but with his language barrier, sometimes in precise plays, it can be complicated.
Do you feel like you have a synergy with him in supp-jungle fighting early, taking skirmishes and all that?
Sheo: I think our synergy is okay. We can always improve it, but I think we did pretty well. We have to follow the plans we put in place and play around that, and not make mistakes, whether individual or mechanical.
Can you and your teammates manage to remain confident?
Sheo: It’s okay, I would say we have a pretty good group, so it's okay. The atmosphere in the team is still fine, but it's still hard to make five defeats after three weeks. Obviously, the atmosphere isn’t the same, but when you lose, you can't pretend that everything is fine.
You are the most experienced player in the roster. Do you feel that you can make a difference individually to help your team? For example, you tried a Lee Sin, which is more comfortable when you are confident.
Sheo: I try to help in-game and in drafts. If I have to drop to help my teammates pick their comfort, it doesn't matter to me. I can play everything. I don’t mind helping my teammates like that. I just support if I can do something for them in-game or outside, I'm here for that.
What makes you still believe in the project? What are the qualities you would highlight to keep the hope?
Sheo: I would say we have good profiles, good players individually. We just lack small details. It's not over yet.”
