Just a few days after being eliminated from the Mid-Season Invitational by G2 Esports,
fell in the semifinals of the
League of Legends tournament at the Esports World Cup to another LEC representative: Karmine Corp. Competing on home soil, KC managed to accomplish, at the end of a completely chaotic Game 3, what they had failed to do on two occasions at MSI by defeating the reigning three-time world champions. Following the match,
and
spoke to
Sheep Esports for a few minutes.
You faced Karmine Corp twice at MSI 2026. How do they compare now?
Ryu "Keria" Min-seok: "I think the meta has changed a lot between MSI and now, and it feels like they're adapting well to the current meta.
T1 won the first-ever Esports World Cup in 2024. How has the tournament changed since then, and what does it mean to you?
Keria: We won it when the EWC was first held, and comparing then to now, I think the tournament has grown a lot over these three years. Honestly, for me, it's a tournament I've always wanted to win, consistently, ever since it first launched.”
After MSI, Oner told us that one of that you needed to study the meta more. Do you think today's loss was also affected by that?
Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok: "Well, there's certainly a meta interpretation aspect to it, but personally, I think our play was a bit disappointing, and I think our preparation was lacking.
If you had to choose, which Karmine Corp player would you like to play with, and why?
Faker: Hmm... I think they're all great players."
