The French
League of Legends ecosystem welcomed a new exhibition tournament this Monday. Organized by
Wadi "Wadi" Benarbia, head coach of Karmine Corp Blue Stars, the Dawn Tournament features seven teams from the national scene, drawn from the Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels, all of whom were eliminated early from the LFL Invitational.
Among them is Zyb Esport, the project founded by Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer, fielding Wao "Wao" Dai on the toplane as a substitute for Alexandre "Hiro" El Hodebey. The tournament lineup also includes Karmine Corp Blue Stars (Nexus League), Caldya Esport (Nexus League), Lausanne Esports (Nexus League), Project Conquerors (Nexus League), Vitality Rising Bees (Game Changers), and Zephyr Esport (Open Tour).
As such, the competition brings together a heterogeneous field, blending Game Changers teams, content-creator projects, Division 2 organizationsâ
now known as the Nexus Leagueâand Zephyr Esport, who recently competed in the LFL Invitational after qualifying as the top team from the 2025 Open Tour.
A Super Group and Playoffs
Although the project is not part of the official competitive circuit, it is conceived as an independent event aimed at maintaining activity and visibility for local teams during the competitive offseason. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on April 3.
The Dawn Tournament opened with a Super Group stage that will run for four weeks, during which each team faces the other six in best-of-one matches. The opening day notably favored ZYB, who secured two victories during the evening against Caldya and Vitality Rising Bees. KCBS also began their campaign on a positive note by handing Caldya a second defeat.
At the conclusion of the Super Group stage, six teams will advance to the playoffs. The first and second seeds will qualify directly for the upper-bracket semifinals of the double-elimination bracket, while the teams seeded third through sixth will start in the upper-bracket quarterfinals. Most playoff matches will be played as best-of-three series, with only the lower-bracket final and the grand final contested in a best-of-five format.
