He is back. After little was known about what Zhou "
Bo" Yangbo had been up to since his stint in the
LEC, the Chinese jungler appears not to have changed his habits of dominating solo queue. It recently emerged that the former
Team Vitality and
Karmine Corp player
reached rank 1 on the Chinese Super Server, amassing over
1,600 LP in just ten days.
On a server reserved for China’s elite players, Bo has been overwhelming nearly everyone in his path. Renowned for his hyper-aggressive playstyle and exceptional mechanical skill, he seems entirely at ease in a meta that favors carry junglers, posting remarkable win rates on champions such as Jayce (67% in 62 games), Qiyana (78% in 36 games), and Ambessa (66% in 47 games).
Replays of his streams can be found on
Bilibili, where he regularly posts outstanding scorelines and appears to carry games almost single-handedly. This is hardly his first such feat. Already highly regarded in China for his solo queue prowess, Bo made a striking entrance to Europe in 2022 after joining Team Vitality, when his account "
zyb" reached rank 1 on the European server within days, powered by dominant performances on mechanically demanding champions like Lee Sin and Graves.
Despite his mechanical gifts, Bo has never quite managed to translate his individual brilliance into sustained professional success. After joining FunPlus Phoenix in 2021, he left the team undefeated, but after only a few matches, having been banned from the LPL following his involvement in a match-fixing scandal. He later moved to Europe with Team Vitality and then Karmine Corp, but frequent mistakes and limited English proficiency ultimately hindered his progress.
At the end of 2024, he announced on social media that he was seeking a new team, though nothing materialized. Since then, he has remained out of the spotlight, and it is difficult to say whether he will ever return to the professional stage—or remain confined to the top of Chinese solo queue. His arrival in Europe had at least made a strong impression on the French community. The Belgian midlaner Yasin "
Nisqy" Dinçer even named
his LFL Invitational team ZYB in honor of the player.
