According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Mario ‘CptMario’ De La Torre has reached a verbal agreement with Movistar KOI to become the new Head Coach of the Spanish team's new project in the Circuito Tormenta.
Movistar KOI's second academy is something that
was discussed a few months ago on the organization's co-founder stream. Supervised by Tomás ‘
Melzhet’ Campelos Fernández as the project leader, the new team would further enhance the club's vision of developing talent. This would allow for the development of the players and the future needs that the club may have for them.
The final decision was made by Melzhet and the Director of Team Operations at MKOI, Luis ‘Resett’ Filgueira. After completing the interview rounds, the duo decided to choose the former coach of Karmine Corp Blue Stars as the first member of the—still nameless—new MKOI project.

Mario ‘CptMario’ De La Torre will be the Head Coach of the project, marking the first time in history that a player, or coach, has moved from Karmine Corp to MKOI, a significant move given the rivalry between the flagships clubs of French and Spanish esports scenes.
The Spanish coach is already accustomed to the role he will play with MKOI. CptMario previously retained a similar position at Karmine Corp Blue Stars, where the trained players in the French second division to help them move up the team's organizational chart.
Two of CptMario former players' during the first weeks of LEC Versus, Xu ‘Tao’ Hongtao Alessandro and Costin ‘Hazel’ Pestrițu. After a year in the second academy, they moved to the LFL academy team.
Organizations that invest money in setting up extensive projects based on developing talent, including in Tier 3 leagues, usually do so
to reduce costs in the long term. If they sign a player to train and mould them to fit their team, it will be less expensive than signing them when they are already known.
