Arcane has once again made history at the
Emmy Awards. The second season of Netflix and Riot Games’ acclaimed animated series took home
four major awards at the 77th Emmys, including the coveted
Outstanding Animated Program, specifically for the episode "
The Dirt under your nails".
Compared to its debut season, which secured five nominations and four wins back in 2022, Season 2 had a smaller set of nods but came away with the same tally of four victories. With two consecutive seasons earning the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, Arcane reinforces its reputation as one of the most impactful animated series of the past decade.
Earlier this year, the show also won
seven awards at the 52nd Annie Awards, including Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production and Best Direction – TV/Media. Together, the Annie and Emmy accolades showcase both critical and industry-wide recognition for the series’ unique blend of storytelling and artistry.
Though Netflix and Riot Games have confirmed that
Arcane will not return for a third season, the Emmy triumph ensures the series ends on a high note. Spin-offs set in the
League of Legends universe are already in development, exploring new regions such as Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia, offering fans new stories with new characters, as Vi and Jinx’s chapter comes to a close.
