After a difficult first week for
Los Ratones in
LEC Versus, where they fell to Fnatic, Karmine Corp, and KC Blue, the team struggled to find scrim partners within the LEC. In the second week, however, they showed that they at least have the level to beat the bottom teams in the league, securing wins against Shifters and Team Heretics.
On stream, the team’s toplaner, Simon “
Baus” Hofverberg, addressed the situation after a viewer asked whether, based on scrims, he felt the standings made sense. He replied: “
We are locked down. After Week 1, teams don’t want to scrim us anymore because they don’t think it’s worth their practice.” He then expressed his frustration with the situation, stating that Los Ratones would beat them regardless.
In Week 2, Los Ratones finally found their way to the Nexus. After a fourth consecutive defeat against GIANTX, the Rats bounced back with wins over SHFT
and Team Heretics, putting them level with both teams and SK Gaming in the standings at 2–2. Next week won’t be an easy schedule for LR: they open on Saturday against MKOI, then face G2 Esports, before closing the week against Natus Vincere.
On stream, CEO Marc Robert “
Caedrel” Lamont also addressed the situation, explaining that Los Ratones had scrimmed LEC teams for four consecutive weeks. He stated: “
After Week 1, no LEC team wants to scrim us, so we scrimmed KCB a lot. Now we are scrimming LEC teams again.”
