We’re more than halfway through the
League of Legends Championship Series (
LCS) Summer Split. One team remains undefeated, and three teams tie for second place. Next week, the organizations that sit in the lower half of the table will duke it out in the first of two consecutive super weeks. Meanwhile, the top half teams will have a week’s rest before they fly to
Mexico City for the LCS Homegrounds.
After a thrilling week of high-stakes matches, a previously undefeated team lost its streak after a massive upset and only one team remains undefeated. For the first time this split, a player from a losing team appears in the team of the week. Week 5 will bring the competition for the last spot in the playoffs to a fever pitch. This week, Sheep Esports has chosen five players who performed above the rest during Week 4.
Thanks to a self-imposed limit of two players per team, these are the players on
Sheep Esports' Team of the Week: top laner Niship “
" Doshi, jungler Juan “
" García, mid laner Lim “
" Hyeon-seung, bot laner Cho “
" Min-seong, and support Philippe "
" Laflamme.
Vulcan becomes the first player named as the
Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the week who doesn’t play in the mid lane.
Toplane: Dhokla (LYON)
The last week in the LCS for jungler Jonathan "
" Armao saw
lose their undefeated streak. The current back-to-back champions had a flip-flop performance, but
Dhokla remained a highlight
across the 1-2 series loss to Sentinels. For Game 1, LYON seemed poised to run the game easily off the back of Dhokla's strong Olaf performance, but struggled to close the game. Dhokla selected Ornn and turned Game 2 around thanks to the space the top laner created. For the final game, Ambessa unlocked LYON's exceptional teamfights, but it wasn't enough to keep the team's undefeated season alive.
Jungle: Contractz (Shopify Rebellion)
have emerged as a serious contender to snag one of the three spots for the 2026 World Championships in part due to the grit they've shown. However, one of the team's consistent bright spots
Contractz. The series against
was a contested battle, but they
snagged the 2-1 series win thanks to their jungler. After a lackluster Game 1 with Xin Zhao, the American bounced back with a Wukong performance capped by an early skirmish in the River. The Rebels secured a three-way tie for second after Contractz piloted Skarner to a deathless performance in Game 3.
Midlane: Quid (Team Liquid)
The only team to continue its undefeated streak after four weeks of competition is
. Though it may still be early, Quid is emerging as a potential Split MVP candidate,
Quid continues to prove to the league how dominant his Summer Split has been. In his 2-0 series victory against
, the Korean established a lane kingdom with his Syndra and channeled his lead into a victory. In Game 2, the midlaner piloted his tried-and-true Ryze. Though the game descended into a fiesta, Quid's proactive roaming style helped balloon TL's lead into a decisive victory.
Botlane: Rahel (Sentinels)
The first massive upset of the Summer Split shocked the league after
prevailed over the then-undefeated LYON. Thanks to
Rahel's impressive performances across the seesaw-like series, he became the first player from the Society to feature in an edition of the LCS' TOTW. The Korean had a superlative Game 1 with Ezreal, navigating several crucial teamfights to snag victory from the jaws of defeat. His Jhin in Game 2 started with an appropriate bang, yet Sentinels squandered their lead. The bot laner closed the series with a solid Caitlyn performance in Game 3, helping Sentinels improve to 2-2.
Support: Vulcan (Cloud9) (MVP)
After losing the first series of the split,
have continuously ramped up their level as they seem to adjust to the additions made before the start of summer.
Vulcan spearheaded the charge
in their series win against a struggling yet zappy . The Canadian picked Leona for Game 1, and his proactive roams across the map ensured C9's victory. In Game 2, the support piloted Shen from early-game lane domination to perfect team fights for a 2-0 victory. The reigning LCS MVP earns this week's Team of the Week MVP after he finished the week with 85% Kill Participation and only two deaths.
