After failing to qualify for the
Rocket League World Championship during the regular season, Geekay Esports have confirmed the signing of Yanis
"Alpha54" Champenois to complete their roster ahead of the
RLCS European Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). The LAN veteran will link up with the last remaining member of the organization’s Split 2 roster, Christian
"TempoH" Mortensen, and his Kaydop Corp teammate Mathis
"mtzr" for the foreseeable future. The organization finalized the departures of Joseph
"Joyo" Young and Jack
"ApparentlyJack" Benton in recent weeks, making way for the French duo. Victor
"Fairy Peak!" Locquet, who joined the organization as a coaching replacement for Dylan
"eekso" Pickering during Split 2, retains his role going into the remainder of the season. The 28-year-old formerly competed with and coached Alpha54 during his time on Team Vitality.
Alpha54 recently returned to competitive action with Kaydop Corp, having taken a year out from Rocket League Esports following his removal from the Team Vitality starting lineup at the end of RLCS 2024. The 22-year-old, who played a key role in Team Vitality’s last World Championship win in RLCS 2022-23, still has unfinished business in the esport. He joined former Team Vitality teammate Andrea "Radosin" Radovanović and French prospect mtzr on Kaydop Corp for the RLCS 2026 Split 2, quickly showing his ability with two top-six finishes to close out the season. The free agent lineup placed sixth in the European rankings, missing out on qualification to the Paris Major to Man City Esports by just one place. It was the first time Alpha54 had challenged for Major qualification since June 2024. The RLCS stalwart, who started competing in 2017, is now in the next phase of his career, signing for his first organization since joining Team Vitality six years ago. The popular Frenchman has also chosen to represent Belgium at the Esports Nations Cup and FIFAe World Cup this autumn.
Geekay Esports has begun its road to recovery following a dismal end to the RLCS 2026 regular season. The organization, which had been present at the Boston Major, made changes ahead of Split 2, parting ways with former World Champion Enzo "Seikoo" Grondein to make way for TempoH. The decision proved costly, with the new roster failing to even make a top-eight appearance during the entire Split. On the other hand, Seikoo ended up appearing at the Paris Major with TempoH’s former teammates on Man City Esports.
As a result, Geekay Esports
chose to move on from its experienced English duo, Joyo and ApparentlyJack, in preparation for the two upcoming LCQs for the World Championship and Esports World Cup. On June 03, he Saudi organization
confirmed the addition of mtzr as a replacement for Joyo, which eventually saw the former Moist Esports star join up with mtzr’s old teammate Radosin on Kaydop Corp. In addition, Geekay Esports announced the departure of ApparentlyJack earlier this week, ahead of his move back to North America to join Dignitas. Alpha54 has now completed the roster, bringing years of experience to a lineup that will be one of the favourites to take the final European spot at the 2026 World Championship. The former French star will be hoping to make his fourth appearance at the World Championship and to secure his new organization’s first.
