Esports continues to grow as an ecosystem, and in 2025 teams kept earning big prize money, provided they reached the final stages and won major trophies; the introduction of the
Esports World Cup also contributed significantly. The rankings were released by
Esports Charts, detailing each team’s earnings.
Leading the list is AG Super Play, a Chinese Honor of Kings team, with $4.88 million. The Chinese organization won the King Pro League Spring and Summer, the 2025 Honor of Kings World Cup, and the 2025 King Pro League Grand Finals.
In second place is Team Vitality in Counter-Strike with $3.93 million. The French organization won the two major tournaments of the year: the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 and the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025. Team Falcons rounds out the podium with $2.83 million in Dota 2, the Saudi team won The International 2025 and also finished as runners-up at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
League of Legends trails far behind
Outside the top three, three more
Dota 2 organizations appear: Tundra Esports, Team Spirit, and PARIVISION. In seventh place is the first and only
League of Legends team in the top 10, Gen.G, followed by Team Spirit in
CS2. The top 10 is rounded out by Weibo Gaming and the Wolves, both competing in
Honor of Kings.
Gen.G had an exceptional year in terms of both performance and results,
winning the LCK for just over $200K, reaching the Worlds semifinals for $400K, claiming the
MSI title for $500K, and taking first at the
Esports World Cup for $600K, bringing their total earnings to $1.7 million.
Other LoL teams also performed well but didn’t make the top 10. T1, for example, won the Worlds for $1 million, took third place at the Esports World Cup for $230K, reached the MSI final for $300K, and earned around $25K for their LCK Seed 4 placement, bringing their total to about $1.58 million. This figure does not include revenue from skins and event passes, which Riot Games redistributes to the teams.
