Team Heretics' completed 2026 Summer Split LEC roster

Between the beginning of LEC Versus and the start of the Summer Split, has overhauled almost its entire coaching staff and changed three of its five players. Today, only Tolga "" Ölmez and Sebastian "" Wojtoń remain from the lineup that started this sequence of changes.

The new faces include Kacper “” Dagiel in the jungle which already joined during the LEC Spring split, Byeon "" Jeong-hyeon in the botlane, and the long-awaited reunion of the duo’s full setup with Han "" Gil, while the coaching staff has also changed heavily. Jonas "Hidon" Vraa has stepped down as head coach, Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm has arrived to take over, Paul "sOAZ" Boyer has joined as positional coach, and Emre "Arkhe" Akpınarlı and Fabian "FEBIVEN" Diepstraten are no longer part of the staff.

The changes were driven by results. Team Heretics finished seventh in LEC Versus and last in Spring. If you dig into the numbers, the team has won only one best-of-three series all year so far, against SK Gaming in Spring. That same record still stands even when including the EWC qualifier, where Heretics were eliminated immediately.

One of the fastest moves came in the jungle, where Daglas was promoted from the academy roster during the Spring Split. The young jungler had already been thrown into the spotlight after Théo "Sheo" Borile stepped down from the active roster, and Heretics trusted him to steady the position for the rest of the split.

The coaching staff has also been reshaped. Hidon has stepped down as head coach, with Nukeduck arriving to take over and reunite with Alfonso "Mithy" Rodríguez. At FlyQuest, the pair spent nearly two years together and reached Worlds twice, bringing their organization their first LCS title ever as well as bringing back the North American region to their proper level internationally.

Arkhe has also left the staff, while Soaz has joined as positional coach and Febiven has departed. The organization has said more details on the final coaching structure will follow, but the direction is clear: Heretics want more structure, more experience, and a staff built to squeeze more out of a roster that has underperformed.

The botlane is another major storyline in this rebuild. Way arrived ahead of Spring, while Hype is only joining the LEC roster now, even though both players were part of the same $70,000 transfer package from TH to Misa Esports. Hype had already been signed during the offseason, but remained on loan at Misa Esports before finally making the move for Summer. Heretics are now bringing the duo together at the top level after already seeing what they can do in more familiar environments.

That reunion carries real continuity. Way and Hype previously spent two years together at KT Rolster Challengers in 2023 and 2024, where they completed a golden run by winning both splits and the 2024 Asia Star Challengers Invitational. They later repeated that success in EMEA with Misa Esports, winning the TCL Winter 2026 split as well.
