Sheep Esports had the opportunity to talk to Bruno "Neon" Rodríguez. The Argentinian player discussed the team's current momentum, the race for Champions qualification and the impressive performance at
Masters London, where Neon lifted his first international trophy and was named MVP of the tournament. The Flex player also reflected on his first year competing in the VCT, the challenges of adapting to the highest level, and how he has evolved into one of the most flexible players on the roster.
How are you feeling after the match and the team performance?
Bruno "Neon" Rodríguez: “I'm feeling really good. We're still winning matches and collecting valuable Championship Points, which keeps bringing us closer to qualifying for Champions Shanghai. That makes me very happy.
You joined the team at the beginning of the year and made your VCT debut shortly afterward. How did you experience that transition, and what was the biggest challenge of stepping up to the highest level?
Neon: The biggest challenge was adapting from playing online to competing on stage in front of a live audience. At first, I was very nervous. Playing on stage was something completely new for me, and it definitely affected my performance. But throughout the season, I've gained a lot of experience and learned how to manage those emotions. Today, I feel much more comfortable on stage, and my goal now is simply to keep improving in every aspect of my game.
This year, you not only qualified for your first international event, but you also won your first international trophy. How did you experience that incredible run, and when did you truly start believing you could win the tournament?
Neon: We entered the tournament feeling confident from the very beginning. But the moment my confidence really peaked was after we defeated Team Heretics. That victory gave us incredible momentum. Everything was clicking, our teamwork was amazing, and the chemistry between everyone on the roster was at an extremely high level. From that point on, I truly believed we had what it took to win the entire event.

In your opinion, what made this roster different from the other top teams at Masters London?
Neon: I think it's the atmosphere within the team. We genuinely enjoy playing together, we're very passionate about the game, and we all get along incredibly well. We're like a family. Everyone gives 100% every single day, both inside and outside the server, and I think that's what allowed us to separate ourselves from the other teams.
You're one of the most flexible players on the roster, switching between Sentinel, Controller and Duelist whenever the team needs it. How do you stay comfortable at such a high level regardless of the role you're playing?
Neon: It takes a tremendous amount of work. A lot of the credit also goes to my coach, who constantly teaches me new things and helps me understand every role more deeply. Outside of practice, I also spend a lot of time playing ranked and studying different situations. It's a combination of individual work, coaching, and constant learning that allows me to play so many different roles.
If you had to identify one area of your game that you still want to improve to reach the next level, what would it be?
Neon: I think I can improve in many different areas. Nobody is perfect, and I still have a lot to learn. If I had to highlight one thing, though, it would be my map awareness when I'm playing away from the rest of the team. I naturally communicate a lot and try to keep everyone calm during matches, but when I'm on the opposite side of the map, I sometimes miss important information because I can't directly see what's happening. I'd like to improve my awareness in those situations so I can help the team even more consistently.”
