Team Vitality opened their
Esports World Cup 2026 campaign without a hitch on
Rocket League, securing two wins and already booking their spot in the playoffs. After beating FURIA and then TSM back-to-back, Gaspar "
stizzy" Andres and his teammates never looked troubled, dropping just one point across the two best-of-five series.
The Spanish player from the Hive then spoke to Sheep Esports following his victory over TSM. In this interview, he discussed the team's form and the pressure surrounding Team Vitality in the Club Championship, as well as his desire to face his teammate Alexis “zen” Bernier at the Esports Nations Cup.
What do you think about the team's performance today?
Gaspar "stizzy" Andres: “I think we played well. We didn't play our best, but for this match it was good. We still have to work a little bit to keep improving, but for this moment it is very good.
When you lose a Major semifinal by such a narrow margin, do you make any adjustments to your preparation?
stizzy: We really have the mentality like we play good, so we are just trying to fix a few little things, but we have this. I think we change the play style a little bit but not really much, but we have the same preparation.
Were you surprised by TSM’s level, especially after they beat NRG yesterday?
stizzy: I mean, NRG is not having the best moment right now, but still, I think they should beat TSM. But for us, we don't care about the opponent. We go to the match thinking they are NRG or
TSM, we don't care. We play the same; we don't think it's easy or something. But they play very well; I think they improve a lot. So yeah, they're playing very good.
There’s a lot at stake for Vitality with the Championship, particularly when it comes to Falcons. Is that something you have in the back of your minds?
stizzy: I mean, we know Vitality is important for them to get points to win the Esports World Cup, but we don't have extra pressure for that; we still play the same. We don't have that in mind; we have to do it well to make points; we don't care. It's important for them, but we still have it in our minds; we don't have to feel the pressure about that or something. We just play our game, and that's all.
Were you worried about losing your contract with Vitality after Spain beat France during the FIFA World Cup?
stizzy: No, no, no. I mean, Spain is better than France, so I think everyone would agree with that. A lot of people used to think about that, but I don't care. I just was rage-baiting my teammates, so yeah, I don't care. It was funny, I guess.
Would you trade a defeat in the World Cup final for a victory at Worlds?
stizzy: Ah, fuck Spain; I prefer to win Worlds. I don't care about football, to be honest.
And would you like to face France at the ENC?
stizzy: For me, I don't care. I think we are a good selection with crr (Cristian Fernández Raigal) and Atomik (Sergio Pérez Cortés). There are a lot of good selections like France, Saudi Arabia, and the USA, but I think we are not afraid of anyone. We just have to work hard to try to be the best, and if I have to choose one, maybe France to play against zen.”
