GIANTX's offseason has been particularly eventful following disappointing results in
VCT EMEA Stage 1 and an equally underwhelming performance in the
EMEA Esports World Cup Qualifier. After recently losing Kirill “
Cloud” Nekhozhin, who joined
Fnatic after spending nearly four seasons with the Spanish organization, two additional roster changes are now expected to take place.
As first reported by
@2COX1NUT on X on Thursday evening, GIANTX have reached a verbal agreement with Cihan “
musz3kk” Göçer to join the team, pending visa approval. It should be noted that if the visa application is denied, the agreement will be voided.
In addition, a second player is also set to arrive. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, that player will be Michael “neT” Bernet. The American, who most recently competed for FlyQuest during VCL NA Stage 3, is expected to join the roster, a move that would consequently see Grzegorz “GRUBINHO” Ryczko moved to the bench.
Bringing a New Dynamic
The Spanish organization had remained unchanged since the roster that successfully turned its fortunes around last year and ultimately qualified for VALORANT Champions 2025. This season, however, results have declined significantly. The team failed to qualify for the Stage 1 playoffs and subsequently fell short of reaching the second phase of the EWC Qualifier. With performances falling below the standards set last year, GRUBINHO appears to be the player affected by the organization's decision to make changes.
GIANTX is set to acquire two very different profiles. musz3kk is a 21-year-old Turkish player who most recently competed for FALKE Esports in VCL Spain, primarily playing Duelist agents. He will be making his first appearance in the VCT. On the other hand, neT already has prior VCT experience, having competed with Cloud9 during the 2025 season.
This year, he spent the majority of his time in VCL North America, first with NRG Academy and later with FlyQuest. At 23 years old, he is now set to receive another opportunity to showcase his abilities in the VCT, this time on a different continent. In recent months, he has primarily played Controller agents, particularly Viper, which has been his most-played agent since last year.
