By defeating
this Friday,
confirmed their strong start to the season, completing a 2–0 week and bringing their overall record to three wins and one loss in
LCK. Among the players who appear to have regained confidence,
delivered a particularly impressive performance in the series, earning his second MVP of the season, notably through strong showings on Orianna and Ahri. The team’s midlaner spoke with
Sheep Esports about the more encouraging start his team has enjoyed compared to their LCK Cup campaign.
Before we begin, we brought a quick question that fans have been curious about. You're well known for your weight class, and also famous for loving to work out. Would it be okay to ask what your big three total is?
Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo: “I don't really go super heavy, but back when we filmed it for a content piece on stream, my big three total was around 260 kg, I think. It's probably close to 300 kg by now though.
You've been carrying your winning momentum into Week 2. Can you share your thoughts on today's victory?
Zeka: Well, we did win today 2-1, but we kind of lost the second game in a disappointing way. So I think we need to review it, and when we go back, we should work on fixing the areas where we were lacking or made mistakes.
What do you think was the key factor in today's win?
Zeka: After losing the second game, we felt like we had played too passively in that game. So going into game three we made the call to go with a teamfight comp and play much more aggressively. And our teamfighting turned out really well to match that approach, so I think drafting a teamfight comp worked out and that's why we won.
With champions like Sylas, Ahri, and Akali, you have some well-known signature picks. Given the current meta, it seems like it's not easy for those champions to appear. Do you think there's still room to bring those champions back out even in this kind of meta?
Zeka: From what I can tell, I don't think there's really any mid champion that's impossible to play in the current meta, so I believe I can pull those champions out any time. I've been keeping up with practice on all of them, so I'm not really worried about that. It's just that right now the meta is more about lane priority, so I've actually been leaning more toward that style as priority picks.
You started the season after changes to the botlane and jungle. Now that some time has passed, how much would you say the team synergy has developed?
Zeka: At first, after our jungler and ADC changed, we played in KeSPA Cup and the LCK Cup, but since we didn't get much tournament experience in the LCK Cup, it was a bit hard to build synergy. But now, through the LCK, as we win and lose, we're learning from each match, so I think we're in the process of steadily improving our teamwork.
You're currently playing as the mid-jungle duo with . Could you share how you feel about the mid-jungle synergy, and also any stylistic traits or strengths you've noticed while playing with Kanavi?
Zeka: Well, in terms of synergy, it's gotten a lot better compared to when we first started. Kanavi's playstyle is that he really loves skirmishing, and he's great at it. So I've been matching that well, and I think as long as we're on the same page, we can win pretty much any skirmish. So our skirmish-focused playstyle has been working out well.
You've been showing great synergy. Since Kanavi is in the spot that Han "Peanut" Wang-ho previously held, there must have been some pressure for him. Could you give a word of encouragement to Kanavi as your mid-jungle duo partner?
Zeka: Well, he is already performing really well, and he's going to keep performing well, he's that kind of player. So I don't think he's worried about that at all. He just needs to keep doing well with me.
Before the season, you set a goal of going undefeated. Has that goal changed now?
Zeka: I think that was
's goal. Personally, the goal I have in mind right now, since the current LCK Rounds 1 and 2 are heavily focused on earning circuit points, I think my goal is to do our best to qualify for
MSI.
Is there anything you'd like to say to your international fans?
Zeka: Well, recently, I feel like I haven't been able to show a great performance at international events; I didn't even get to compete. So this time, I'll do well in LCK Rounds 1 and 2, make it to MSI for sure, and show everyone a strong performance. I'll work hard.
