After a final weekend of intense competition,
G2 Esports remain the master of the Americas region in
VALORANT. After five games and more than five hours of intense competition, the Samurai emerged victorious in a high-stakes final against
Leviatán, securing their fourth consecutive
VCT Americas title and validating their place in the playoffs of the
Masters London and the
Esports World Cup 2026.
The Argentine team had, until then, a flawless run in the playoffs, winning all their matches, including the upper bracket final, already against G2. Sent to the lower bracket, G2 still secured their place in the Grand Final with a 3-2 victory against NRG. The next day, the team had to play another best-of-five and took their responsibilities to win again on the same score.
A final that lives up to expectations
Before this match, G2 had suffered two defeats against Leviatán in the group stage and the previous round. Despite this, the Samurais struck first in the final by winning Fracture, their opponents' map. Leviatán, however, equalizes the score and even leads 2-1, thanks in particular to good performances from Eduardo "Sato" Nagahama on his Phoenix. G2 saves a first match point on Pearl, notably with strong performances from their Duelist Alexander "jawgemo" Mor, who achieved 89 kills throughout the BO5, including 25 on Pearl. In the final map, trailing 10 to 8, G2 came back in front, notably thanks to a one-on-two clutch by jawgemo, ultimately winning 13-11.
After surprising many observers, Leviatán did not fall short, having had a remarkable journey that many did not expect. They will still compete in their first international competition in London since the VALORANT Champions 2024. G2, on the other hand, celebrated their fourth title, the first of Andrej "babybay" Francisty's career, who had joined the team at the beginning of the season. Still in search of their first international title, the team will have the opportunity to achieve it at the Masters London from June 6 to 21.
