For the final two days of the
LCK Cup, the Korean league is heading to
Hong Kong, at the
Kai Tak Arena, to host the Lower Bracket Final and the Grand Final, announced the league on Tuesday. It will be in front of the Hong Kong crowd that the second qualifier for First Stand, as well as the overall winner of this LCK Cup edition, will be decided. The first match will be played o
n February 28, with the Grand Final scheduled for
March 1.
Kai Tak Arena is a modern indoor venue located in Hong Kong, part of the larger Kai Tak Sports Park built on the site of the former Kai Tak Airport. Designed to host major sports and entertainment events, it has a seating capacity of around 10,000 and features state-of-the-art production and broadcast facilities, making it well-suited for international esports events like the LCK Cup finals.
It will therefore be
the first time the LCK exports itself abroad, with the league being played outside of South Korea. While roadshows within Korea were common last year—such as matches in Busan,
T1 Home Ground in Incheon, or Gen.G’s event in Suwon—the teams had never before played official LCK games outside the country.
In the LCK Cup so far, the two groups, Baron and Elder, are tied at ten points each. Gen.G and T1 are the only teams performing perfectly at 4–0, while Nongshim RedForce and the DN SOOPers sit at 1–3, and HANJIN BRION are last at 0–4. In the other group, Dplus KIA lead at 3–1, followed by BNK FearX, Hanwha Life Esports, and KT Rolster at 2–2, with DRX at the bottom at 1–3.
Only one week of group-stage matches remains, a Super Week in which each team will play just a single BO5. The matchups will be BRO vs DRX, DNS vs BFX, NS vs KT, T1 vs DK, and HLE vs Gen.G. This Super Week will award two points instead of one, as in the BO3s, and could significantly shake up the standings.
