KOI is making yet more changes ahead of the Superliga's Summer split.
Ivan "NightSlayer" Bilous and Zayan "13" Taeau have reached agreements to join Movistar KOI Fénix in the Superliga Domino's, according to Sheep Esports sources. Yesterday, Sheep Esports reported three new additions to the roster — jungler Tiago "Time" Almeida, support Tomislav "Thomas" Nanjara, and head coach Jorge "Disgrace" López — meaning that the team's only remaining piece from Spring split will be former LEC midlaner Bartłomiej "Fresskowy" Przewoźnik.
Both players are shockingly young, having started competing professionally in 2024: The 17-year-old Ukrainian toplaner earned a respectable fourth place finish with Tan'i eSports in the LVP SL Division 2 last year, while 13 — an 18-year-old French ADC — fought his way through the French Nexus Tour. By joining KOI, then, NightSlayer is set to make his return to Spanish League of Legends competition.
Nightslayer most recently placed ninth in the Prime League with Austrian Force willhaben, while 13 placed seventh in the LFL Division 2 Spring split, narrowly missing out on playoffs with Lille Esport. On Lille Esport, KOI Fénix's new head coach Disgrace worked with 13 individually to help him develop. Now, the two are competing together.
After repeatedly failing to achieve their competitive ambitions as an org, Movistar KOI Fénix is desperate for results. Picking up two young rookies is a gamble, but it could be exactly what the team needs — either way, after a Spring split roster built with Tier 1 veterans like William "UNF0RGIVEN" Nieminen and Erik "Treatz" Wessén, it's certainly a change of pace.
