HolyPhoenix holds the record for the most pentakills in League of Legends history, with 12 pentakills over a career spanning more than 13 years.
When thinking about the player with the most pentakills in League of Legends history, Anıl "HolyPhoenix" Işık might not be the first name that comes to mind. Yet, the Turkish AD Carry holds the record with twelve pentakills. He is closely followed by Nguyễn "Celebrity" Phước Long Hiệp with eleven, while Carl Martin Erik "Rekkles" Larsson and Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng complete the podium with ten pentakills each.
HolyPhoenix is a living legend in Turkey. A professional player since Season Two, he has spent nearly his entire career in his home country and even competed at MSI 2021 and 2022, as well as Worlds 2022 with Istanbul Wildcats. Known for his aggressive playstyle, he has won multiple Turkish league titles and sits alone at the top of the leaderboard for the most pentakills in League of Legends history.
A King in the North
Rekkles is undeniably the greatest ADC the old continent has ever seen. He holds the record for the most pentakills by a European player, with eight of his ten achieved while playing for Fnatic between 2014 and 2020, and his most recent one with Karmine Corp in the LFL 2022 Spring. According to the Swedish player, the most memorable of them all was at home, during the EU LCS 2015 Summer Playoffs final in Stockholm. It was the first time his family and friends could watch him play on stage, and he delivered a stunning performance, securing a pentakill on Tristana in Game Three against Origen in the BO5 series.
In North America, Doublelift holds the record with ten pentakills to his name, most of which were achieved during his time with Counter Logic Gaming (CLG). His final pentakill with CLG came in Game Two of the NA LCS 2015 Summer Playoffs final against TSM, on his Jinx during a botside siege that sent the Madison Square Garden crowd into a frenzy.
Bloodthirsty ADCs in the East
In both the East and the West, this ranking is heavily dominated by ADCs. Chen "GALA" Wei tops the list for Chinese players, with more than half of his pentakills coming from his iconic Kai’Sa (five out of nine pentakills). At MSI 2022, he made history by becoming the first player to achieve a pentakill that was later discounted, as the game was nullified and had to be replayed. In the remade match the following day, he scored another pentakill.
In South Korea, two ADCs share the crown with nine pentakills each: Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk and Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, both having played for or currently playing with Gen.G and JD Gaming. At 26 years old, Ruler is no longer in the early stages of his remarkable career, with two LPL titles, one MSI, one LCK, and a Worlds trophy. On the other hand, Peyz is just getting started, having already won three LCK titles and one MSI at only 19. His most memorable so far came against Bilibili Gaming in the MSI 2024 final on Kalista, a game in which he finished with an impressive score of 28/2/7.
Fun facts:
- The first non-ADC player with the most pentakills (7) is Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther.
- On the champion side, Kai’Sa is the most effective for securing pentakills, with 201 units, followed by Jinx (149), and Zeri (119).
- Royal Never Give Up leads with 16 pentakills, followed by G2 with 15. Cloud9, Fnatic, Invictus Gaming, and Team WE share third with 13 each.
- Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin is the only player to score a pentakill in a Worlds final, doing so on Fiora in 2020, though his team lost.
