Tarzan was named MVP of the LPL grand final
Anyone’s Legend and Bilibili Gaming faced off in the LPL Split 2 grand final to decide the Spring champion and the seeding for MSI 2025. After an intense best-of-five filled with numerous kills and surprising turns, AL emerged victorious in four games. This split delivered everything fans hoped for, culminating in a new champion crowned in the LPL.
Anyone’s Legend secured their first LPL title since joining the league, marking a milestone both for the organization and for the finals MVP, jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong. After five years competing in China and several finals lost, Tarzan finally clinched his first LPL championship and will represent the Chinese league as the first seed at MSI.
A final dominated by Anyone’s Legend
Anyone’s Legend dominated almost every game in the final. The first game was the shortest, lasting only 27 minutes before they destroyed BLG’s Nexus to open the series. Korean support Kim “Kael” Jin-hong, earned MVP honors for his performance on Rell, delivering a crucial engage with his ultimate that secured a Drake and a decisive fight, putting AL ahead in the series.
The second game was a bloodbath with 55 kills total, 36 of which went to AL. Despite BLG’s resistance, AL’s draft was nearly unbeatable—Sion top, Pantheon in Tarzan’s hands, and Ryze for Cui “Shanks” Xiao-Jun. BLG managed an unexpected Ace around the 35-minute mark but couldn’t withstand AL’s overwhelming power. BLG fought back to win game three through sheer perseverance; even with their Nexus exposed and AL ahead in kills, BLG forced a fight over Elder Drake. Zhuo “Knight” Ding exploited this moment to backdoor AL’s base, forcing a game four.
Tarzan’s impact was undeniable—his Zed in the final game was a masterclass with a 9/0/8 scoreline and the highest damage dealt. He nearly secured a pentakill, only narrowly denied by his AD Carry at the last second. On a mission to claim his first LPL trophy, Tarzan carried every fight and led AL to victory, securing the championship for Anyone’s Legend.
Eyes on Canada
Now that the LPL season is over, both teams are heading to Canada, specifically Vancouver, where MSI 2025 will take place. BLG will begin their journey in the play-in stage on June 27, while Anyone’s Legend will start directly in the main stage, which kicks off on July 2. Both teams have also qualified for the Esports World Cup, scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, starting July 16. This MSI will mark Anyone’s Legend’s first international appearance, while BLG are seasoned veterans, participating in their third consecutive MSI.
